My theory of evolution...

yeah i've kinda gained an understanding of how evolution and creationism can both be right. I dont mean to start a debate, i just wanna see if this makes any sense to you guys. if you dont like me making this a thread, than please just dont reply and let it die, i would appreciate that. anyways...

So.... God obviously is a superior being, and time means nothing to him. there is no such thing as instant, eternity, or time to God. He doesn't have to wait, or be patient, or anything. Its kind of mind boggling, but work with me here. so when God created the earth "instantly" which to him was just he said let there be light and was there. However, our attempt to measure God's creation takes us milloins of years to sort out. so God created the earth in seven days from his point of view, with big bang, evolution and all that stuff involved, but to him it was instant or sudden, rather, but to us it takes million of years to develop. I believe that God had intended Humans to be the final product, so he did create us, evolution was just our attempt at trying to measure God's complex creation.

im kinda saying all this in a hope to make many atheists, as well as christians, not so narrow minded but realie that both sides can kinda fit together. Thanks fellas

^ i understand that but this is also for christians too. I want people to know that satan didnt create dinosaurs, or that radio -carbon dating isnt a hoax or anything, like many christians believe. But yeah im not expecting atheists to be like "oh thats a good point that means God exists" i just want people to understand that when looked from at that point of view Religion and Science can fit together.

well put. You've basically summed up what most modern biblical scholars and liberal christians believe. Creationism is a rapidly changing term. Primarily only very conservative denominations believe that evolution doesn't exist and that the universe is only a few thousand years old.

Here's my question for you Christian folks. Where did God come from? Everything has to have an origin, a definite beginning. You say that He's been around forever, but there has to be beginning. So, who, or what, created the Creator?

But in a science classroom, shouldn't a scientific theory with scientific evidence be presented? Science teachers aren't denying that Creationism is a theory, but why should they teach it? They have an agenda for the year, and they want to educate their students by presenting a scientific theory instead of wasting a few days of learning time to tell their students about how some guy who runs around in the clouds all day thought it would be neat if he made people for his little world.

that would work, only if the wording in the Bible didn't contradict it.

the Hebrew word for day, with no possibility of extra time (i forget the actual word), is used to describe the time. If God was being truthful to Moses when he was explaining it (he was, he's God), he would have said i made the world in 6 earthly days. But he didn't, he said "day" as in 24 hours, meaning that genesis is supposed to mean 7 literal days.

The Bible also makes it quite clear that God spoke the word and then it was so. It doesn't say he set forth a process that inevitably created the world as we know it. The Bible goes in detail about how man was made, and it doesn't involve evolving from an ape. Also, genesis is not written as an allegory. It means what it says.

I would not think that God would create the world via a process that is entirely random in its mutations and therefore in it's outcome. The evolution theory as a whole falls into the cosmic accident scenario for life on earth. Speciation falls into the creationist theory, but the rest of the evolutionary theory does not for ultimate origins (meaning we all came from amoebas does not fall into creationism).

It is a dangerous business, that of trying to reconciliate two opposing theories. Both have different world views attached. Trying to reconciliate creation and evolution is impossible, because adapting the Bible to what evolutionist say is saying that the Bible is not to be taken literally (then the life/death/resurrection of Christ is put into question, the very foundation of the christian belief), and inversely to have an evolution theory with a God attached is not the realm of science pure, and the evolution theory claims to be nothing but; to attach a God to a godless theory is nonsense.

It's a good theory, quite many people nowadays believe it. But those who do either then cannot trust the validity of the Bible and therefore the foundation of their faith, or they decided to believe in the unscientifically proven and the very bane of the evolution theory, God. (although, with the evolution theory, it wouldn't be the first time :P sorry, i had to)

actually, it is widely accepted that out of nothing, comes nothing. Meaning, that for us to even be here, SOMETHING must have been etrenally there, or else there is nothing to come from nothing.

Big Bang theorists believe that theories such as mass and energy (and gravity and other such things) have always existed, and that somehow the mass started reacting with this energy and formed matter which went blamo! and thus started the process that inevitably caused us via freak cosmic chance, with no purpose and completly by accident.

Creationists and theists in general believe that this original "concept" was God.

You could argue the other way as well. Where did the universe come from? The Big Bang theory (even though most physicists now think it's a completely incorrect theory) theorizes that the universe expanded from a singe atom. Well where did that atom come from?!?

There wasn't meant to be an argument dude. I was genuinely curious as to what the explanation for the origin of the Creator was, in your opinion. I've never been informed as to the Christian perspective on this matter.

kinda like the Big Bang atom, the Christian viewpoint is that God has just always existed. It's a chicken and the egg thing. At least for me, for both the atom and God, it doesn't really matter where they came from because it's mind-numbing to ponder for too long and there are plenty of things to figure out after their existance.

Here's what god told me. Humans are just a faze. Like dinasaurs, who were around for thousands of years, we will die out pretty soon. With global warming melting the ice caps, pretty soon the ocean will take over land masses, countries will seize to exists, and the world will be too hot for humans to survive. We will die by either drowning or getting skin cancer, so we don't have to worry about being burned to death. The sun will evaporate the entire ocean and the earth will become one big desert. The new creatures will be giant flying scorpian look a likes. It may take a while but eventually the scorpians will evolve into smart entrepreneurs. New technology will be created and skiing will take place on giant sand mountains. After several years freeskiing will be invented and a scorpian named Jarvey will invent newschoolers. Janner Tall will dominate in the X games and all will be good. Then comes "The Big Rain" which wipes out the scorpians and brings in the sea horses. Thats all I know for now...

its not.....im learning it right now in biology, and its simply a theory that scientists have researched, have plenty of evidence to support, and is presented a just that, a theory, whether u choose to believe it or not is your choice

and by the time or the time we WOULD figure it out the world will be destroyed from a huge World War...most likly within the next 2 to 300 years... countries will have the military technology/capability to blow up most if not the entire world.... itll happen...mark my words

dudes like how do we know this adam and eve stuff? like seriously who was around? thats retarded, evolution is a proven theory. and how can u belive anyhting in the bible says besides jesus comming to earth, the ppl who wrote it, did so like 150 years l8r and they cut half of it out, so ppl wouldnt know things the church didnt want them too, and one question for u who belive everything the bible says...Born the vigin mary????i think not

yeha and now there aare tons of books with tons of differnt ways of looking at it and explanning it, just deciding that some all powerful being directed to coarse or these events and there is no genuine scientific explantion behind it is closed minded.

so yes in youre theory, the catholic "god" created the universe, and then on planet earth a bunch of idiots created other religions that are totally absurd, and in your theory would be force to believe that some other religions god created the earth and them. hmmm doesnt quite work does it?

there are many scientific phenomena that have not been fully explained

so how can you say science is absolute and challenge religious people to explain something(or many things) you can't with modern science

you're trying to have a one-up on religion without acknowledging that a purely scientific approach to the universe has yet to explain everything, or even close to everything

i really dont know if god exists, i mean, if he did, why would you have people not beleiving in him? Obviously you need to have some sort of faith, because otherwise your a wondering soul, i really dont know what happens when you die, does your soul actually leave your body, and if it does, why would you bury it 6 feet deep in a coffin, why wouldnt you just chop up the body seeing as its just a vessel for your soul, also all this re-encarnation thing, how does that work. the whole evolution and creationism theory really boggle my mind, maybe there actually is a God and he intended for us to evolve, or maybe we actually only did evolve, or God was jsut there at the begining of time, but that still would be able to explain how he/she created him/herself, or maybe when then big bang had happend it also created god.

All those questions are obviously only answered with other questions, unless someting happens to you and you finnaly figure it out, and if you do, why cant you tell anyone?

for example:
redshift/blueshift
time dilation
length contraction
e=mc^2

now, attempt to explain to me the underlying theory (hint: relative speed of light), and why you think this is not on the same magnitude as creating humans

sorry to go on a rant, but i hate it when people break out the science argument against religion

these people are mostly ignorant and i know a hell of alot more about science then them probably

and they will try to point out flaws in religion but wouldn't admit there are things that science can't explain, things of incredible signifigance.
