you know what REALLY grinds my gears.
AE/HOLLISTER/ABERCROMBIE and people that think they need to wear that kind of stuff to get girls, and vice versa.
I don't know if its just me but when i see someone wearing those brands i see someone that is weak and easily controlled by the media and peer pressure. People are turning themselves into these giant "preppy" billboards by wearing this kind of stuff just cuase some kid on the OC was wearing that stuff.
I much prefer seeing a girl that actually shops for her clothes and wears something else then every other girl who just went to ae/hollister/abercrombie. I swear this week i saw at least 50 girls wearing the same pair of shorts, when i asked one of them wear they all got them from they said they were the new shorts @ abercrombie. I MEAN COME ON PEOPLE LETS BE ORIGINAL.
About a year ago i made a desision never to spend my money at one of these stores again, t-shirt for 25 dollars doesnt just seem like a great deal for me, and its not like im buying this t-shirt to support a core skiing company or someone that needs the money. buy spending my money at abercrombie/ae/hollister im only making the RICH RICHER.
I guess im kind of on a Boycot of these stores now. The only places i buy my clothes are the local skate shop and d-structure. I much rather support these smaller stores and companies and lets help the people that need to grow grow.
THIS HAS BEEN MY RANT/ if you shop at these storeies please post why you do. I seriously want to know. maybe im a grumpy ass hole maybe im not. EXPRESS YOUR OPINION!

at least their a little more creative and think for themselves when their buying clothing.
if anyone still wants to harp on me, look how these companies were treating their black and non perfect body employees, they treat them like shit, the way thses places run themself is bad news.

I dont like those brands either. My favorite place to shop is REI, and the local outdoor places. My favorites are Mountain Hardware, and Acrteryx. Im guessing that most of you havent hardly heard of Acrteryx too. A little RL/Polo every once in a while.

i recently just baught 2 polo's from a place called bluenotes, lots of people in america wont know what the hell i'm tlakinga bout becasue its a canadian company... the thing i usually purchase from there are the funny graphical shirts, but not any of the band shirts cause their trying to make the bands trendy, and shit liek that, liek one of the girls shirts the had kiss in a fucking rainbow i mean comeone how gay is that shit, and liek they had a kiss sign in camo and i'm like kiss never did this shit to their logo for a reason becasue it doesnt look good, and thier liek trying to make cool stuff for the dorrs, liek one shirt for the doors is liek hello i love you.. and dont get me wrong i liek the door's but i just wouldn't want to wear a shirt that is making them into a trend... again with kiss i wouldnt want to wear clothes of them becasue its trendy, same with black sabbath, and the list goes on. and the reason i know alot about what the store has is becasue i work there, and i know that it's probibally gay and shit to work at a clothing store, but you meet lots of chicks and stuff, and i dont really care, like i have 2 jobs and it pays my bills and gives me some money to have fun... so when time comes around for me to get drunk on my birthday i will have money to do so... and that guy that was saying all that stuff about how lots of girls dont dig what guy's wear and their style, that is true to an extent cause i have known girls that can look at a guy for who they are and not for what they wear.. they also dated alot of losers in my mind, but its not for me to judge other people... well it is, becasue i dont care i will judge anyone... but back on topic, if you liek a style of cloathing its not wrong to buy it, and if you dont liek it dont buy it

im a skier and always have been, what do you guys think of me wearing burton clothing?
i think wearing other companies clothing is completely fine. it does get annoying seeing everyone wearing the same companies but how many of the same quiksilver shirts do u see people wearing...
you guys need to chill and stop being affected by the littlest things

im pretty sure as long as you are involved in a winter store burton is cool. i mean they dont stop at snowboarding. I have burton goggs and helmet, and i wouldnt mind to have some gloves either.

its incredably stupid. people that are walking billboards for some clothing brand is rediculus. I can see a difference in wearing some kind of sporting brand if you do it though....
but i see poeple at school that are chill and then they make freinds with preps, and then to fit in they start buying the preppy bilboard clothes. fuck the media

first of all everybopdy follows trends everyone. so getyour head out of your ass and stop acting like a self righteous bastard.
People make an amazing amount of decisions based upon their social conditioning. If they grew up seeing their friends doing something then they too do it. HOw often do you see groups of friends wearing the same kind or style of clothes. probably 90% of the time. People not only seek out people that dress act alike, but also adjust to their image. Case in point. go look at every skier four years ago. Were did all the doo rags go? Skiing just like any other culture has its trends and people follow them. Things out side of the trend tend to get hated on and pushed away. its funny how quickly what is cool changes.
I remeber in high school a bunch of kids(like 30% of each grade) got into buying clothes and the salvo. Does that make them any more original than kids buying their clothes at a & f? Economical yea, but original no.
I really dont care what other people wear around me, i wear the whole gamut from skating shirts to sweaters to whatever, although i buy cheap at tj max or salvo cause i prefer to spend my money elsewear besides the clothing rack.
i wear nice stuff when i want to impress and comfy stuff when i dont care. im not going to go on some pilgramage proclaiming i wear only this style cause its what i like. different styles suit me at different times. Sometimes i even dress in clowlooking clothes, but not on a date. One thing that does bug me is popped collars and other things like this. Yes it is a trend, but it is also a social status, and i feel that, wether intentional or not, they are somehow saying becuase of the way they dress they are better than others. People need to be aware that how you dress at anytime has a huge affect on peoples perception of who you are.

haha, this is definately the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Why would you want to heart someone because they wore a helmet they liked?

Arcteryx is awesome... But it's ridiculously expensive. It makes abercrombie look cheap.

fuck dude i HATE that. it happens alot with band shirts too. for instance i saw this kid with a shirt that said "listen to slayer" i went up to him and started talking about slayer and asking him wat his favorite song, favorite album was and he kept saying idk so finnaly i said, "dude, do you even kno who slayer is??"
"No, i got this shirt because Bam wore it on Viva la bam"
I felt the urge to knock his face in but i just laughed and walked away

I totally agree with the topic creater, but the thing that gets me even more is when kids wear the ski/ snowboard gear that dont ski or snowboard, it just pisses me off cause most of the time they dont even know what that companie makes

the only way i will give you respect with a post like this is if you wear clothing that you made because otherwise you are still the same motherfucking walking bilboard that you seem to hate.
