disc golf is where you have discs similar to frisbees. there are drivers, mid range, and putters usually. You play just like golf, scoring-wise, and the hole is a pole sticking out of the ground with chain link fence around it, and when you hit the chain, it falls into the basket. And no matter when you go, there are always 50 hippies playing at all times.
I play but I just find a target and call it and you have to hit it in the least amount of throws. Basically the same thing, just without the equipment.
I see. You'd be suprised that you can probably find a course somwhere near where you live maybe. I had never had any idea, then my friends told me about a place like 5 minutes away. and another 15 minutes away
theres at least 20 courses within an hours drive of my house, so i play alot. half of them seem to be located right next to a creek, and if you just go barefoot wading through the creek you can get five or six discs for free.
disc golf is pretty ill. it's out of town a way, and cops aren't allowed, so when you say you're oging to play folf you're most likely going to do something else...at the folf course
someone should start a cult. yeh i play disc golf, i see a lot of you are from the midwest, and if any of you know where mount aire is in the nati that is where the championships for professional disc golf was held.
MN, Iowa, and TX have the most frolf courses by state. MN has like 150 courses, its sweet.
i find it funny how some people love golf, but refuse to play frolf.
there's a lake right next to one of the holes at a course close to my house, 2 years ago i took a pair of waders in there, found 14, yes 14, discs in about half an hour. it ruled.
I went to Colorado State University for a student ambassador program a few summers back and they had courses (if you want to call them that) all over the campus. We played alot, its mad fun.
I play with my brother all the time at a couuple courses near my place. It's a lot of fun but I never think of doing it unless someone else mentions it.
I recently went to my first actual corse. It was at Borderlands State Park in Easton/Sharon, MA. Fucking soooo much fun. Its a huuuuge course (longest in new england). The course is like 8,500 feet (blues). I'm hooked now.
Ummm yeah thats not tthe longest hole in the world by far, one of local courses here has a 1,000 plus ft hole. It is also nationally ranked in the top 25 courses.
