Hey we need to start checkin up on our jibs bruthas. we need more snowboard/skateboard kinda tricks like sw 270 nose sw-up tail slides and crooked slides and like real almost nosegrind presses that the riders do and sw 5050s on c boxes and 5-0s and a bunch o utha shit. (and also we gots ta learn how to spin inta that shit) then we will be as cool as boarders

sounds good but those are hard tricks and my philosephy on skiing is that to not be like boarders be different that is why i ski and dont want skiing to get big cause them everyone does it and its no big deal to people

there is a huge difference between riding off the side of a box and claiming it to be a nose/tail, and pressing one out. A real press that looks good is done through the skis, not your body. so unless youve been pressing for years now, you just havent been cleaning the whole rail.

furthermore, you know your on to a proper nose/tail press when you can ollie out of the press. so at the end of a nose slide you'd be able to pop off and stomp, not land shitty.

i have been doing this thing on some rails and boxes where i get on the jib set then i butter until my skis are almost facing back up the hill my friends and i call it the hurricane

the future of rails is just making them bigger, longer, taller, and with more and more different curves. im thinkin like down flat down c to the left then flat then long c to the right... with a 450 out of coarse. and also spins on bigger shit like 360 sw. ups and shit

in snowboarding urban rails are a much bigger thing i think skiing should follow this same path and put more emphasis on urban rails.

yeah, nobody likes them from the west coast ive realized, or pro's atleast.....for me cause i was raised east coast, i think their fucking sick and i get stoked to do it. west coasters are kinda the more dominant pro's kinda/ish, and i think they hate on it. east coasters will have to hold it down, cause west coasters just get pissed about it.

the best trick ive ever done was nose press a 20 - 25 ft long green rail with very little jib room or do a normal railslide drop to nosepress on an ip to down box...the rest is absurd

yeah i was trying to do some 50-50 tail presses, but my tails kept washing out, pretty fun though. and what is a crooked grind on skis?

no, but i guess that looks more like a frontboard than what i'm doing. if you were to slide left foot forward and then twist your upper body so you are basically looking behind yourself but turn far enough to look down the rail. does that make any sense?

ok then how? take a still pic of a skiier and a still pic of a good boarder. compare an contrast. theres just less things goin on with a boarder(one board,nopoles) , skiings theres two skis two poles legs will be movin around differently. im not sayin its true 100% of the time cuz its nots. but i guess i just like skateboardin style on rails apose to roller style.

well JP walker is the undisputed champ of rails in snowboarding and i think (opinion) that tanner is one of the best in skiing; now get two of their pics youll see that you cant compare and contrast that well cause they are doing different things and until we have a defined notion on what style looks the best we will never be able to judge whos the best........ period......

no one is dumb, skiers just havent gotten to the point where we can do tricks so easily that they are steezy. SNowboarders have been sliding for a few more years than us.

And for my opinion, Travis heeds picture in ski time is better than any snowboard steeze ever. That picture marks the beginning for true steeze.

yester day i did a 400ft long 80 kink quintuple S rail then did a D-spin 1530 off and landed in a handstand and started break dancing but i had just got my edges sharpened and accidently slit some 8 year old snowboarder-kid's neck cause of my uncontrolable break dancing steeze. he shjouldnt have been in the park neways.

i say we bring the KANG SLIDE back. it was all the rage in whistler like 4 years ago. do a front foot slide and grab kang on your back foot. man..steezy on rainbows.

see, the problem with this "progression" on rails is that everyone wants to find "the next hot thing". a few seasons ago it was 270 ons. then things like lipslides, than nosepresses, etc etc. while yes, the technical difficulty of the tricks being done has improved, the actual progression seems about the same. there is such a lack of individuality these days, with only a select few who are really able to stick out. everyone else just clings onto a style that is "in" and follows suite. its a very destructive trend. the same thing happens with grabs. look back to 2002, lui kang anyone? this season it was truckdrivers.

the bottom line, is this. there is ALOT, ALOT, ALOT that can be done on rails, and SOOO much that we have yet to see. very few have even come close to tapping the potential. Charles Gagnier is one of the few, who despite the closed minds of his peers and lots of critism, is actually pushing things. im not going to say what progression is or where it should go, but people need to really think about thier body, thier skis, and what they can do on a rail, or a jump for that matter. that is progression.
