Getting around the aluminum problem

so as we all know aluminum is pretty damn soft. Ive never tried to slide it but now I found a suppper sick urban rail, really sturdy but its aluminum and its like in between two walls and the run out kinda goes to a ledge drop with a rail then a street (so its not the kinda rail where u wanna catch a huge edge) i was wondering if ppl have had good or bad experiences with aluminum rails and maybe if I put a bunch or wax on it then it would catch? lemme know what you know.

Well, I havent ever had a problem, BUt, I remove the edges on my urban skis in the middle for doing wood rails. If you pull em out you wont have a problem

Take a whack at it with a crowbar and see what happens. If it does anything, assume thats the worst case scenario and judge it from there.

yea i am well aware of this. but i do not own urban skis, i have jump skis and park skis jump skis dont go on rails park skis are for everything else.takeing out edges is not an option. it seems diff then reg aluminum though, not as silver if my edges were pretty dull and i waxed it up do you think it could be fine. again i know i could just try it, but falling in this spot may not end up so well

i wouldnt hit it with any kind of edge. enough can go wrong in urban as it is you dont want to have to worry abvout your feet stopping.

wait until it is REALLY cold, the aluminum will harden a bit and your edges wont dig in as easy

aluminum rails are as cool as AIDS.
my snowboarder buddy and i hit up a picture perfect 8 kink in my town this past winter, and we both ate shit so hard it was ridiculous. he went first and made it past one kink before flipping straight over. i thought he was just being a pussy about it so i dropped, made it to 3 kinks, the whole time trying to delay the inevitable, but after the 3rd kiink i went straight over the handlebards, hard. anything metal on aluminum will not slide period. maybe if you tear out your edges it will work but i wont promise anything man

no edges you're good, super dull edges you're still fucked no matter what, aluminum is way softer than the edges on your skis.

i dont have 100 bucks to just throw around. I think if its really cold and i waX it itll be fine. the wax will make a hard barrier above the alumium. ill test it for sure to see if it catches really bad or not
