i was thinking of this, like u know how people line up at stores to get a pair or jordans. Well kids would be lined up at skishop to get the new hall's, every 2 months a new color would come out and the boots would cost $700(semi equilvent to jordans $250 shoe)lol. people would be beating people up if they accidently stepped on the their boots. but serious, dont nike make snowboard boots or something

if nike made skiing equipment other than clothes, the sport would lose some of its soul I like. when nike started making snowboard boots, it was to appeal to the masses that snowboarding is cool. this over-popularizes the sport into what it shouldn't be. the same with the olympics, and video games. it's a novel idea, but it hurts the sport. but however, if there were no posers then snowboarding, and newschool skiing wouldn't have the following it has now. I mean, if 50 year old women didn't buy pocket rockets beause 'it helps them turn' there wouldn't be as much demand for the product and that would hurt sales which causes the company to doubt making another product. so I guess it's good and bad for the sport then. what do you guys think?

Wasn't Nike forced to abandon the snowboard hardgoods market due to widespread protest within the snowboard world? That's what I remember....On a semi unrelated note, I remember having a dude bring in a nike snowboard with nike bindings into the shop I worked at. It was funny, he told me people harassed him whenever he went to the hill and saw the swoosh on his board.

Columbia make ski Jackets, K2, technica, Salomon all are not only in skis. THese companies are outdoor ADVENTURE based. Let the snowboarders have all cooperations. They call skiers sell ouyts yet they swear by their brands

i think of the big companys started making ski stuff it would really hurt skiing. if one big company came and took over 40% of buisness, then the little companys would just die out, and the smaller companys keep skiing as skiing, and not a big child labor rip off

If Nike took an approach like they did to golf it would probably kick ass. At first they started making shoes. They are good shoes. Then balls. They kick ass. Now they make clubs. Its all quality equipment. Nike Golf is practically a seperate company. If they did this with skiing they could make some sick stuff. Think of all the money they could put into R&D.

if nike actually made hard goods, then i dont think i would be interested, because they wouldnt be in it to help skiing along, they would only try to max their profits and they might end up putting other companies on the outside. but if they maybe bought a ski company, for instance, if they bought Head, and kept it intact while putting lotsa money into it, i definitely wouldnt have a problem with that. i think thats what they did with a couple skate companies, but im not sure...

yeah if nike did make stuff it would put more interest into the sport, nike would have commercials and people who dont know about the sport would see freeskiing and how sick it is, and they would want to try it, then lots more people would do it, and other big companies would sponsor athletes, then pros would make a lot more money because the indusrty would be a lot bigger, and there would be more semi-pros, and more people would have a chance to get into the ski business, i think something like that would be good, but some people think freeskiing wouldnt be at the core of the sport and posers would start saying they skiied, but all of that comes with a sports popularity so i dont care about posers and shit, i just think that the bigger freeskiing is, the better

niek makes pretty good ACG (all conditions gear) stuff. Some of their fleeces and jackets are good for riding
