for next yr im thinkin about building a light short rail(8ft long) but really tall ( about 8 - 10 ft high) and it needs the height to be adjustible and it needs to be moved pretty easily cus we hafta take it like a mile through a trail all up hill so i was wonderin what material i should use for the rail thats durable that i can leave out all winter and how can i make the height adjustable
its part of this sick line were building at these power lines and i need it high cus i wanna be throwin flips off of it and 8 ft is a reasonable length cus its gonna be like jump up land and then huck
whats the point of making rails so high? i have a bunch of rails like 2.5 ft. high in my yard and they work fine and when you fall your fine, why would you ever wanna be so high you have to worry about falling, make it low so the risk of injury is low and the stability is high
u should make it longer than 8 feet.. throwing flips off just a rail that ur going to be tapping is hard stuff.. make it like 10 or 12 feet.. also build sections and then carry the sections out there with a batterypowered drill and put it all togeather out at ur spot..shouldent be too hard. post pics when its done, sounds cool
yeah seriously thats pointless. youd hit it maybe 5 times, and realize that it was stupid. just build like a 12 ft or 16 ft rail and put it 4 or 5 ft off the ground. way more worth your money
whoah. you're gonna need so much bracing that it's gonna weigh 100+ pounds if you want it to be even remotely safe. My portable rail is 12 feet long and two feet high and it weighs 50-60 pounds. You're better off finding a 10 foot log to prop up between two trees.
