This year it seemed like every where you went there was urban style rail set ups. Who'd rather see an ollie on rather than lifting one foot before the other.
i think the creator of this thread has whack terminology..... but a good lip, with a little pop so you can spin on. but if it's a down rail, or something that starts off goin down, i like a slat, urban style manual ollie lip.
urban set ups are way better, you have to ollie. Skiers were bitching about ollie on take offs on our park rails. "what's with the snowboard style take offs" they would say. all i had to say to them was "learn to ollie" Lipslides are way sicker with urban setups too.
correct me if im wrong but this is the point of the thread. yea ollies look better,
the thing with "urban style" park rails is that the rails usually are only say a foot above the jump, making stepping on possible.
on real urban you actually have to pop,
even if you arent nollieing.
I love to see a good ollie/nollie, on to a rail. The best is when both skis pop at the same time. I think ollies/nollies and presses will be the hotness for next seasons jibbing.
-^non lipslide nollies are insane.
straight take offs are hella gay shit, unless its like a super tall long flat rail with a fattty gap, otherwise sidetake offs are the dope shit cause you actually have to ollie to get on.
Who ever said stepping into a lipside is lame, someone just said Travis Heed style step on lips. And same with Tony B. All I do is try and emulate those two when I ride.
I say keep doing the step into a lipslide way. I'll keep doing that if you keep doing that!
