Looking for a mountain bike

hey im getting a new mountain bike soon and ive been looking at the ellsworth joker. i mostly want to do downhill type stuff, and alot of big drops and stuff. so does anyone have any experience with this bike or know much about it? i know its really good for downhill stuff but im just concerned about how it will do off big drops and jumps and stuff.

im probably not buying a frame, im looking for a good used one on the mtbr.com classifides, and ebay or anywhere else i can find one. im looking to spend around 1500, and ive seen jokers go for 1000 and some as much as 2500, most seem to be around 1200-2000.

i recommend these frames:

1) Cannondale- gemini
2) Cove- shocker or playmate
3) Iron Horse- Yazuka
4) Foes-fly or DHS mono
5) Kona-Stab Supreme or Howler or Stab Delux
6) Specialized-Demo or Big hit

these are the best frames i can think of for the type of riding u want to do, here are the websites in the same order as the bikes:

The Joker's a really nice bike, but you also might want to look at the Yeti AS-X or Santa Cruz Heckler, those are awesome bikes too. Those will also be a bit easier to find than an Ellsworth and may go for a bit less.

ok some of those bikes look sweet, some might be too big and heavy though, i still want to be able to ride around some so a freeride/downhill is what im kinda looking at, not a hardcore downhill bike. so how does the joker compare to those bikes? i mainly want to know more about the joker.

wow now im kinda interested in the foes fly, it looks like it might be pretty heavy though, and there is one on ebay going for like 1100. but im still kinda thinking the joker might be a better choice.

man hes got to drop way more than 1500 for those bikes. the demo is 4700can, and the faith is up there as well, but i dont know the price

ya i was lookin at that or the cannondale chase 2. my bike just got stolen last week.

o ya and elsworth is a sick company never had one but heard good things. another sick dh bike would be the ironhorse sunday. not the world cup, but the next one down. or the giant dh bike. giant is super reliable and have great pricing.
