and the reason the book did so well is because he uses facts.
The Mona Lisa is a reel painting that exists. in fact ive seen it. so is the last Super.
the Illuminaty, The priary of scion and the other groups they talk about in there aresecret groups that were not invented by Dan Brown, wether they exist or not is differnt but they were not invented by the book.
he uses tons of FACTS mixes tehm up and makes a really good fictional book.
so he is not a moron. since what he said is completely true

the book says that Jesus was married, had children and it talks about differnt organizations who know this onformation and who are trying to protect that information or use the information for differnt reasons.
any more and it would ruin a very good book. I dont know about the movie but im probably going to see it soon.

yea. I went there for a french trip. It's so hyped up, and it's like the size of my english binder. And the one across from it takes up the whole damn wall. looks better too. I guess they had marketing even back then

There are also the satanic verses (8 or so other books that the catholic church decided to have taken out of the bible) that talk about this, and the fact that there is a line of french kings that claim they are direct blood decendents of jesus.

in the da vinci code Langdon states that the only reason the mona lisa is so popular is becuase Da Vinci himself said that it was his masterpiece. it really isnt that special aside from the fact that da vinici, possibly the greatest artist ever claimed it was his greatest work ever, ergo it should be the greatest work ever out of anyone anywhere in the world.
i also saw this really interesting thing about Da Vinci and they believe he was the smartest man to have ever lived. Experts estimate that his IQ was somewhere around 280.

I have seen the Mona Lisa in real life. when I lived in Paris I went to the Louvre often as far as the Mona Lisa being overrated. its size is pretty unimpressive and the fact that its all alone on one side of the room makes it even less impressive.
the reason it's one of the most famous pieces of art (if not THE most famous) is because her facial expression can mean so many differnt things to so many people.
and the reason its used in the book is because its so famous, it was made by Da Vinci, and her facial expression is a very mysterious one.

for sure, a painting that takes up a whole wall is crazy but the best paintings arent determined by kids like you and me, we cant realize what great art is while other people can. That's probably why we think that its dumb all the hype and other people think its very good.

the problem i have with it is that the book is so hyped up, but yet... its not that well written. its just another cheap thriller that happens to revolve around certain things that religous folk find very contriversial.
