bah, make it stop. it seems like everyone here likes to hold to their ignorant belief that macs are made by god and that they can do no wrong, you can't sway them...and at the end of the day, all this arguing is not gonna get us anywhere.

clearly written by a pc owner. the new macs have 2 click mouses. and the things that make macs so much better is they are not prone to virus' [the number one reason PC owners get new computers], they are amazing for anyone whos love is music, and their graphics are uncomparable, making them ideal comuters for graphic designers/engineers, or anyone else needing superior graphic capabilities

ya but i can build 3 PC's by the time you buy ur 1 MAC. and they last me a good 3 years then a lil upgrade for $400.

and noone goes out and buys a new computer becasue of a virus. its called Symantec anti-virus. or format the HDD.

and even a virus did somehow corrupt the drive u can go buy a new one for $50 and start over. with a MAC its all 1 part basically, stupid and inconvenient.

I agree with the music part. but "superior graphics" the OS is not what makes the graphics. video cards are. and if you want a professional level card "quadro" or "FireGl" which are the only 2 card types that will be used for high level graphics and cad then you CAN NOT use a Mac because they are unavalable for them.

and as far as viruses. Macs are definitly prone to viruses since their have been over a douzne found in the last 2 months. sure Virus programmers havnt been to interested in the Mac OSX because of its 6% computer user sahre. but hackers are getting tired of Mac user's elitist attitude and their finding more and more loopholes. last week Apple had to patch something like 46 loopholes in a major security patch.

I agree. PC's are better. If you know how to use a computer and keep it safe then you won't have a problem. For those of you that have switched to macs because you got a virus. It is your own god damn fault you fucking retard. I have 6 PC's and not one has crashed in 4 years that I've had them. NOT ONE. So don't tell me macs are better because they don't crash. In school they have over 300 macs. Every day they have to fix at least 5 computers because they are so god damn shitty. Even the tech. guys who work on them say they are pieces of shit. We have a saying in our school. If something goes wrong, its because its a mac. Every computer teacher that I know hates macs. Anything you can do on a mac you can do on a PC and after using PC's for years and macs longer I prefer a PC. I could go on and on but as I write this I am in school on a mac and I don't want to risk the chance of losing everything I've typed.

I did have to get a new computer due to a virus that killed a year old computer. PC's fucking suck. The ad wasn't to use a stereotype of nerdy to cool. It was to show the relaxed attitude apple has towards innovation. I have a powermac g5 which i've had for 2 years. It has not done one thing wrong yet. I plug a digital camera into my pc and i have to load all of the disks and turn off the computer, restart, then plug it in. On my mac i just plug it in for the first time and iphoto pops up and imports all of my photos. I have never once had to restart my computer for freezing. Final Cut Pro is amazing and photoshop is so much more simple. Also file management is a lot easier. There are no secret spots for files to get dropped, everything is exposed including things that are dropped onto your computer that you do not want. OSX is easy to use. PC types think its better to have a more complex computer, but why. I just want to be able to load my video camera quickly, open final cut, and work. Not have to deep search for everything. Also a stupid line is 80% of software isn't available on a mac. Well who gives a shit if Elmo's secret adventure is available...

The Mac:Hot (but slightly stupid) Girl comparison is fairly accurate. Mac's work well and look good performing simple tasks, but if you know a few things about Pc's, they can do anything you want.

Ps-Pc's don't get viruses if you don't click on everything that says 'click here' or 'free ipod' or 'enlarge your manhood'...

BAHAHAH my mac has never crashed erasing all of my important files. My pc laptop has. I have restored it, but its basically a paper weight in my room right now. I remember it crashing right in the middle of my sophomore term paper worth 50% of my english grade. Celebrate your ignorance, I'll keep my files.

Once again you PC types, "i have superior knowledge i got off the internet or from a friend or from a manual that can solve my windows problem."

Why not have a computer that just works? Why should i have to dick around with norton anti virus, read its manuals, be bothered by its messages, have it constantly in the task bar. Why can't it just work?

Yes I have. I've used every computer from the old imacs to the new G5's. I even took a video editing class and we used powerbooks. They froze every time I tried to render. I now use my laptop or my desktop and it never freezes. I admit I would like a mac for video editing but for everyday tasks its much quicker and more efficient to use a PC.

my computer works. it's five years old too. i've never had windows crash on me and lose my files. never.

in all fairness, everything depends on the user. you can screw up a mac just as badly if you don't know what you're doing.

Every time I go back home I absolutely dread using my parents PC. It seems like I can't be on it for more than 15 seconds without getting some random error that I have no clue what it means. I'd have to agree with all my graphic design professors when they say PC stands for Piece of Crap.

Up until about 2 years ago I was a PC user and hated macs... now all I use are macs and I love them.

then you should have nothing against mac's. included on the mac desktops is a two-button mouse, and even if you don't get that, you don't have to buy the Apple mouse, most all two-button mouses will work.



XP isn't as bad as the mac world makes it out to be. if you do take care of it, it will run fine, but that's the big if. the family PC just got a virus and had to be taken to be fixed were my G5 imac has been perfect.

Well, if your using a 1 button mouse all the time on a mac you can always hold down control and then click and it will do the same thing as right-clicking.

i never said i don't like macs. in fact, i have an ipod and i would buy a mac if i could...and use it along with a pc. i'm just fed up with all you people thinking that macs are automatically vastly superior to pc's, just because it's a mac. in my eyes, they are equal.
