What does Skiing Need?

There are a lot of threads about skiing needs more of this or that, or less of something. What do you think skiing needs? Everybody should be able to come up with one thing that would make the sport better. My input: Everybody needs to learn to respect anybody who skis, myself included.

It needs to go back to old school.
Back when no one was out there to look cool, since u were the only one on the mountain with twin-tips as it was, and just to enjoy ourselves and f*** the people on the mountain that think different.

i disagree. Most of those are too soft. Something mroe like the karma's stiffness and about 110 mm wide.

Who the fuck wants a park ski thats 110mm? park skis at max should be 90, in my opinon. Thats why you purchase septerate skis for park and powder, its a great investment.

And since when has a soft ski been bad? Most park skis and powder skis(well some powder skis are soft) and thats how they should be.

not a park ski. a ski that skis the steeps and turns the BC into a park itself.
I personally prefer a powder ski to be stiffer than normal.
I don't really ski park. I just use cliffs, trees, and BC booters to do my tricks. So that's my dream ski.

Have you ever skied a softer pow ski? I ski pistols in the pow. They are a blast, and they perform great. I have never had a problem with tip dive, because the ski flexes and the tip floats. Also, a lot of sketchy stuff has to do with the skier, and although stuffer skis are better at taking crap at high speeds, I love straighting rough shit on my big soft pistols.

Personal preference i guess.

yeah I've skied them. Theyre OK.
I'd prefer for the average ski to be around 100 mm underfoot.
I just don't like the softness.

today was my second day out after having surgery way back in december for a torn acl. i'm having so much fun just cruising around and making turns. it's like i'm discovering skiing all over again. i'm so pumped just to be back on snow.

getting injured this season has sucked so much but i have def gotten a few positive things out of it. my approach/perspective on skiing has changed for the better, so o well. live and learn and then get strong for next year

i hope you can get well soon and recover 100% from your injury... the same happened to me a few years ago i had an injury and i couldn't ski for a few weeks and when i skied again the doctor said to me not to ride very hard because it could be dangerous, and i saw ski in other persepctive as you say like the only thing i could throw was a 360 at most and i was really pumped to jump again and i heard some kids like saying look he can only do 360 and he doesn't throw big jumps and they didn't even know what happened to me, i mean just hating because thats their mentality
