Volkl Dogens !!! Are they worth buying?

I've seen some volkl dogens going really cheap in an end of season sale and I mean so cheap you just wanna have them as a jib only/urban destruction ski! they're brand new though. About $200. (£138)

Now then, I've also seen some Fujatives going cheap too for a similar price.

I am quite tall and heavy. 182cm and 185lbs. So I'm thinking both will be a bit too soft... but I probably will only take them in the park.

So the question is... Which is best? I'm thinking the Dogens but I know you American guys know a lot about Fujis as they're so readily available and cheap over there.

What should I do???

either ski will be pwnd if you are just 100% jibbing it. so go with the cheeepest ones.

umm i have seen at least three pairs de-lam.. with your height and weight they might .. i think i might go for the fujis.

ya man doges are a super fun ski but i broke mine after like 25 days of skiing

Ok so dogens are weak. But it what way? And how much compared to the fujis which are also pretty shittyly made I've heard too. Will using really strong adhesive in the drill holes help, or is it more the whole ski that just falls to bits?

Sorry for all the questions but there is only a small window in which to buy them!

The Dogens are way soft. If you want to ski anywhere out of the park, don't get them. I'm only 150 lbs, and I easily overpowered them on groomers.

the topsheet flakes easily, but volkls except the dogen are pretty much bomb proof

a friend of mine skied the dogens this spring, their topsheet was gone around the edges. i wouldn't get them

i work at a shop in ohio. i've never skied the dogen but every pair we sold (to fairly small, lightweight riders) came back with a snapped core. they opted to replace them with stl's or foils for the most part. i'm a huge fan of all other volkls (gotama, karma, etc...) but the dogens don't seem to have it.

Definitely don't get them, especially if you weigh that much. They have to be the softest ski I've ever felt. Every pair we sold or demoed was really chipped within a few days, and I saw three or four delams and one heelpiece rip out. And we only gave them to light riders, mostly girls.

Fujatives will be better - the tail is pretty firm, but I think the soft tip and short length won't be good for you either.

Right I've ordered 179 fujis. They will only be hitting park and mainly in indoor slopes and dryslopes in Britain. Not a fan of the soft tip but the price makes it worth it. If I wanted Public E's I would have to shell out another 100 pounds.

Shit now I can't wait to get them!

You know that "I'm getting new skis" feeling? Damn, I got it!

last season, 8 pairs of dogens came back to us broken. We warrentied them out, and because Volkl didnt ask for the skis themselves to be sent to them for the warrenty, we now have 5 broken dogens hangin from the shop ceiling (one kid destroyed both skis upon landing.. pretty insane)
