Replying to 05/06 Season- A Costly Season in the Skiing World

I was just thinking back on this season and all of the stuff that happened. It started off in Colorado with a freak avalanche at Berthoud in November, taking the life of a snowboarder. Then all of the other stuff- CR getting seriously injured at Brighton. Teddy dying. Doug Coombs getting killed. There were also lots of injuries- I got pretty messed up in early March. Within a short time of that, a friend of mine got so seriously injured that he will never snowboard again. Again, all at the same time (same weekend, same place where I got hurt), a friend of a friend broke her hip. Another friend messed up her hip badly enough where she has to have surgery on it this summer. Then Mike Cuseo got seriously injured at snowmass. The list goes on. It is just crazy to think of the people that we started the season with- Teddy, Coombs- who are no longer here with us.
