i dont know much about still cameras but for $1000 you should definatly be getting an SLR if your paying that much

For $300 you can get a film square-body SLR Canon EOS1 w/ booster drive. It can shoot 6 fps and is just as sharp as that thing.

check out the nikon d50, d70, or canon digital rebel. All sick DSLR cameras cheaper than that sony (i think they are all cheaper).

never buy a sony digital still, and don't buy a nikon digital still. When you're getting a digital, Canon is the way to go.

^ exactly. If you're looking in that price range, my (any many others) personal choice would be the Canon Digital Rebel XT. Better camera for the same $$

^ did you take that picture or did you google your camera model and this popped up? Even if you did take that, I'll bet it was because of automatic mode. Sony doesn't make SLR cams. They make those poopy "fake SLR" point and shoots, along with Panasonic. Get Canon.

i took the photo. And it was in manual mode. You have to know what your doing to take pictures, the camera is merly a tool. Even though some are better than others. I never use automatic mode, im always in manual.
