The world of skiing is quite amazing, and the way we push the limits of rails can only be described as, uh, well I just want to hear some opinion, as this has been troubling me for a while.
How come we almost never see snowboarders or even rollerbladers doing whipped spins over 450 to rail taps? There is no argument in it being harder on a snowboard, in fact it would be much easier as they have more torque thanks to thier stance allowing them to spin even faster than us and they may land and slide a rail no matter what point in thier rotation they land at. I would just love to hear an explination as it has been killing me for a few days here!
Maybe the answer lies somewhere in where rails were originally borrowed from, or crossing the line that divides the likes of marc frank montoya from rob holmes?
Help me, NS intellectuals!

thats like in the xgames halfpipe persay, snowboarders will throw some grabs in and spin 540s a couple 9s, but skiers are going alllll out hucking as big as they can go. i think skiers are more progressive than snowboarders, but thats just my opinion. also, have you ever noticed we snowboarders spin w/ out grabs it looks awful, they twist and whip there bodys around. we definatly have more style than them when spinnign bugger things

I have never been a big fan of snowboarding style...Espceially when they let go of the grab and unwind to finish the rotation.. that being said they some amazing shit and i have mad props for them..
But I dont think the answer is following in there footsteps like ppl say. They would over shadow us and our progression...Kinda like some one who is 6 2 standing next to someone who is 7 10...They are tall in their own right but not comparatively
We need to have our own sport with our own progression and style so we can break out of the shadows of snowboarding not linger in it by doing the same tricks a year later!!

here is an idea for progression that will dominate 06-07. Learn tricks on rails.

Have you even seen a snowboard halfpipe comp in the last 2 years? Most big winning runs have at least 2 1080s, a few of 900s and they're going as high as skiers do doing those tricks, probably higher.
Of course its going to look bad when they don't grab, its no different than skiing.
But the biggest thing that they have over us is they spin all 4 ways in their runs, not 1 or 2 like 98% of ski pipe runs.

i've seen snowboarders do 450's and 630's. and the wider stance makes it harder to do spins on rails. but i do agree that on a snowboard you can land anyway you want due to the width of the board.
