Line Mavricks

After countless thought, I've decided to buy Mavricks. The only problem is that I don't know what size to get. I'm stuck between 160 and 170. What size should I get. I'm 13 years old, 5 foot seven and I ski like 55% all mountain and 45% park. I'm a high intermediate/advanced skier.

Given that you are going to grow and ski aggressively (I assume this last point), the longer of the two would most likely be the better choice.

longer is generally better...id go longer - but thats me, if you can demo them...

I can't demo them cause my shop has only 2 pairs, one 170's and one pair of 160's. Longer might be a good idea, but I demoed a pair of Skogens and had trouble with them cause they were too long.

Skogens are pretty sweet, but if you are looking at a pro model than go with the shorter Mike Nick 171, as far as the maverick goes, by the time you grow into a 170 you will be looking into getting new skis anyway, so get the one that fits you more appropriately, a 160... The mavericks are great all over the hill....

I think your weight is probably a more important factor.

I like skiing a ski that is a little longer - the landings aren't as sketchy for one.

The mavericks are great skis.

Yes, i would definitely get teh 170s. They might seem a tad big, but at 13 you'll grow into them pretty fast. And also, you'll probably grow out of the 160s too fast.

oh, by the way, I used to ski line mavericks, and I sincerly loved them. They were great all around, essecially were i ski; meaning there great if you ski a mountain withougt much in the line of a terrain park. The only thing i didnt like was the lack of a full twintip

ya i have a pair of 160's and i love them for all mountain, the semi twin is a little lacking but they hold there own in the park
