i actully dont have a big problem with school. as long as what we are doing has a point, i cant stand teachers that just give us busy work. but if a teacher gives us an assignment that helps us understand somthing we need to know, then i dont mind it

i'm not sure what you ment by that TAK...but if it was suposed to mean 'shut up, you're better off than most people', than I don't care - I hate school, it's holding me back in what I want to do right now in life, but I have to stay in it for another 6 months which sucks ass...........but if that's not what you ment, than nevermind.

HAHAHA...werd to that darryl...Man I could accomplish so much more important stuff if I wasn't in school right now. But i just couldn't make a living off of the stuff...well maybe but its a gamble. But despite that I couldn't make a living I still think it is more important....whatever fuck school....6 more months and I am out! yah!!!!!!!! WHistler baby!!!!!!

stay in school boys...you dont wanna be left at 40 with no high school degree and two shot knees...please...dont do it. What decent paying jobs do you think you could get?? You would be worthless to any employer, and you would have trouble understanding the world around you.

the sad thing is, an employer would think I'm useless to him, but sofar this year I have only learned a few things that will help me in what I want to do in life, all that other shit is just a waste of time. Our schooling system should be like what some eastern nations have - by like grade 8 or something you go into carrear based schools so you only learn what's important - and get out of school quicker. not waste over a quarter of your life (that's saying you live to 80+) in school.

School is the biggest waste of time ever - but as I said, only 6 more months.

I used to hate school and always wished i were done. Now that i've been done for 2 years....i really wish i were still in it. It sucks to not see any of you friends for months on end. School was so much fun...parties all the time, being under 18 meant doing stupid shit with minimal concequence....bah...if i could go back in time i'd do it over again for sure.

Then again, i tend to want what i can't have.

When an employer sees school on a resume, he's not looking at what you learned, he's looking at how responsible you are.
Many people don't have a clue what they want to do when they are 25. You can't ask them to choose when they are 13. That's why school is more gerneral. School is important too, because you learn a social behavior as well as responsibilites. I think that there is too much emphasis on getting good grades in highschool. Just have fun. Doing well in school is good, but don't stress majorly just to get an A.

what kind of stuff do you learn in school that helps you at all to be a pro skier?? if thats really what you want to do then drop out...at least i would if i thought i was good enough...

i'm not going to drop out, because I'm not as stupid as Tanner Hall is. I don't know the guy, but after reading his interview with Freeskier Magazine I picture him living in a gutter somewhere looking through a garbage for food. The guy just doesn't think. He moved to a raceing academy, and droped out because he was shocked to find out that they bread racers there and claimed 'it wasn't his thing'. what the hell did you think they do at a racing school?

And after winning a few major competitions he says he's 'in it for life' and thinks that nothing can take him down from the top....which is not what you should be thinking when you're a pro. he should be worried about injury, getting into a slump, or anything else that can make you a washed up pro before you realize it.....and when/if he does get washed out the bottom of the pile, he's got nothing to fall back on because he droped out of highschool at 16.

If I don't make it as a pro, or if I do, than fall out of the limelight I'll at least have something to fall back on. I can become a piolet, or get into tool & die or something easily.

but I definetly understand your point and you are right, its stupid to drop out of high school...its pretty much the easiest thing in the world even though it sucks
