chronic wide all the way. runner up is karma. chronic wides are stiffer, and they both have about the same waist.

first off wides are not stiffer than karmas...and karmas kick the shit out of the wides as an overall ski...go karmas, volkl is bombproof, i love mine and ive skied the wides and the karmas and id take my karmas any day over the wides

^ dude, wides are a solid ski too specially if he's gonna ride 60% park. plus the price tag on wides is gonna be way cheaper!

yeah thats the thing, if i get karmas im getting the 07's and if i get wides im getting last years for only 275. but idk, if the karmas a better ski then i guess ill spend the extra dough...

karmas are not stiffer. it may be about equal, but they are not stiffer than wides. karmas are alot heavier too

if youre talking about any big mountain that is actually big mountain than the best choice is probably the karma out of those 3. Big Trouble would be a great choice too because you get park performance, but good big mtn capabilities. BCs wouldnt be bad either.

Get wides, they will be better if u ski 60 park, and they kill everywhere, light, softer than karmas

a 1 foot section of edge fell out of my dogens after only like 25 days of skiing and they chipped like there was no tommorow

thats the dodgen...thats the only exception to my "volkl is bombproof" statement becuz the dodgen is a crappy ski...but i hit rocks trees anything BC has to offer to fuck ur skis up and my karmas r still rockin everything...and my gotomas r holding up amazing too

people these days throw around the term bigmountain way to much, my guess is that he isnt even talking about backcountry... just steep runs inbounds

the karmas are so dope, if you look at them in the right light, you can see the outline of a buddha and a boudi tree

youre a moron.
lines blow, ive skiied pretty much every pair since 02-03, and theyre all soft as shit. karmas are sick, volkls are sick, except dogens since theyre made in china. and they dont delaminate after 3 days skiing, which is more than i can say about the three pairs of lines i had, all of em delaminating within a month or two.

I have new chronics, and they are stiffer than any skis i have skiid. Maybe youre heavier, I am light. And you two are the only people I have seen/heard who say chronics are soft.

chronic wide prob the best folowed after dynastar

yeahh. they are alright, but they lack the life of the karma. the chronic blend, however, is close to as lively, but it still isn't as strong. the only reason i say the chronic blend is on par with the karma is on account of the extra width.

yeh i completly agree with you...chronicsa re extremly stiff especially right out of the plastic(obviously) but thats partly why i love them so...(i weighed around 160 last time i skied them)

yeah i dont think i want a stiff ski, i think im gonna go with the tm's. how do they shred?

yeah TM's are fairly soft, a good ski, but go for the new 06/07 ones, they have redesigned them with new edges/bases and they should be sick. if you get an older model, make sure you watch out for the edge problems..

my 04-05 skogens arent soft and they really are a great ski, there perfect for me because i live on the ice coast so they can handle hardpack and groomers but there also great for powder, there just not tanks like a made'n' ak or anything
