how hard is the class? im starting it this weekend. i dont even wanna do it, my mom is making me, and i dont even have like a job for it. im so pissed, its weekends 10-7 each day
the course its self isn't to hard...it's just boring and long, and if you want to pass you actualy need to pay attention which sucks. The physical stuff is fairly easy. I did a crash course of it all in one week....it was the worst week of my life
theres like a test in the begging like, swim 500 yards and shit, someone told me that like if u dont do pass that first part, u arent eligible to take the course
Life guarding is by far the easiest job and best job ever. If the pay was really good I would do it for the rest of my life.
The class is easy as shit and unless you are a complete dumb ass you will pass it with ease.
A five hundred is pretty far if you are racing but they will just make you swim it and it is super easy juat take your time.
The hardest shit to remember is CPR but I highly suggest you get a lifeguard job, hot girls are lifeguards, you get to yell at little kids, and you get to have fun in the sun.
I am. And it's sick, I work at a camp on a lake with a bunch of other chill guys and hot girls. The course seems to take forever, but when you're done it's worth it
yeah im probably doing to sign up for a course. Is the 500 timed? I swim it in the winter and my best was 6 50 but its been a couple months. Is that all the swimming you have to do for a test?
im and its such a chill job, i gave it up thou. id rather work in a ski shop in the summer and be able to live at my summer house than work in the city all summer
i was a lifeguard for 6 years...worst thing i saw was a bleeding nose. But that's the deal, if you pay attention and prevent dangerous activity...it's unlikely anything will happen short of pulling some kid out that got a leg cramp or someone falling and breaking a bone.
The hardest part of the course is paying attention. But if you live in a place like BC, starting wage is 16 bucks and hour.
i have all my quals and have had them for a long time ive just been unable to find a job lifeguarding. ive attended 2 screenings and called all of the pools i applied to many times and still got nothing. my resume is flawless too so i dont know :(
I was a lifeguard back in the day and I loved it. I also taught swim lessons to little kids. The class is easy if you put forth a small amount of effort while you're there. You should enjoy it.
today was the first day of the course mad boring, and for the 500, i had to do 20 laps, and i did 14 and the guy thought i was done so i got lucky on that, but yea it wasn't much fun
yeah i find the last 7 the worst because you are thinking about the laps and you think about the number and think you did more than you actually did. Lucky. How long did it take you?
my friend just took her test today. she said it was hard for her because she's a diver and not really swimmer ( and she's pretty small) so swimming all of those laps was hard for her
