so david blaine stayed under water for 177 hours and then held his breath for 7 minutes and 8 seconds. i guess this guy is actually human. it's still pretty amazing though.

I saw a video of the guy holding his breath for the 8 mins 58 second, he was like a corpse in the water.
Daivd Blaine was moving, and anything over 5 minutes while moving is unreal as your body required a lot more oxygen.
The guy who held his breath for 8:58 is named Tom Sietas, there is a very boring 9 min video of him breaking the breath holding record.

The skin does tend to get that weak when under water for that long. I remember another dude tried it and his dead skin was floating all over the tank.
