final cut express, educational version, buy it from the store. I think its about a hundred bucks, but I dont know if that is what you call cheap. Compared to final cut studio pro, its a hell of a bargain.

Most basic stuff can just be done with iMovie. If you don't have a mac, I feel bad for you.

agreed. and don't be a cheep shit and try to download it. just man up and pay for it. that was the company gets money that they in turn will put into R&D for a better product in the future.
