It sucks. I don't feel like Prins let us down, but at the same time... Midwestskier was so much stronger back in the day, I kind of miss it. I'll put in a old CTP film and be like "there's Travis Geinger and TQ!" I wanted to be just like them. Or when PBP came to MPLS for 1242 and Ready, Fire, Aim. MS was there. That shit was cool. The Midwest scene is blowin' up, but I don't feel as tight with everyone as we once were. Hopefully things like FRESHTIP and the Midwest Massacre will be able to put us back together. As for the regional forum thing... it isn't the same. Not even close, it is MSO that is missing. Someone should buy Midwestskier and fix it so it works properly, then we should take over the world! I think Daveb would be perfect for the site, hell, I'll split it with you Dave.

currently I plan on buying midwestskier.com and running it with the help of Brandon and squirrel. we want to get another MSO going as well as other events to promote MS.com as well as have fun events for everyone(ie movie premeires, rail jams etc).

I total agree with that. It can only get bigger and better.

No, don't cop the summer rail jam scene. It is being done way too frequently. If you were to purchase midwestskier.com, you get the rights to MSO and be able to start the open again. It would be a legitimate event again and it still be different from the Massacre because it would be two events, Big Air and Slopestyle, in one weekend. Sick.

that rail jam was a joke, prins did not do a good job with it. but too many summer rail jams, I don't think so unless I'm missing other isn't there just pinewskis? But good stuff Bill. Whoever mentioned the poor boyz premier, that was sick, we need another one of those

thats what im saying. make it how you want to have it and rep it for the website. let people know midwestskier is back and so is the midwest skier open. get the word out early and it will only make it better come winter time. maybe make it a skier only comp too, that would be the shit. i think a skier only comp in the summer would help the midwest scene get a little closer and it would be really chill.

i completely agree with you on mso, but why not have more comps from midwest skier? if they threw a summer rail jam every year along with mso and maybe one other it would be way sick. i know it takes a lot of work but i also know that this would help the skiers of the midwest get a lot closer

I'd gladly take it over and run the back-end while leaving it as a community site and doing as has been suggested there; allowing the mods to take over partial repsonsability... I just don't have the spare cash at the moment to do anything. Considering I've got a ten-year track record on my site; it wouldn't be anything I'm not used to doing. sbnet isn't the only site I run... I run forums elsewhere too.

There isn't anything wrong with skiing during the summer, but a summer rail jam for midwestskier wouldn't be original. You've already set precedence that it would be like Pinewski's, therefore you are just copping someone else's idea. Don't get me wrong, I am not defending Pine at all, but as a matter of personal opinion a summer rail jam from MS isn't original. Plus, I would see if you could handle MSO first. Comps and rail jams are an enormous amount of work and take a lot of preparation to do it right.

I support this, Brandon and Squirrel are invested in the site and should have the oppurtunity to take ownership.
Guys if you are reading this and want to have the MSO at tyrol you can already consider it a done deal, you know I mean it.

MSO is kind of a Spirit thing, but you could do a circuit... but like I said, it is a shit ass ton load of work. I really support them buying it too.

Steve why the hate? I have dedicated a large part of my free time trying to figure out a "new" event for the midwest. It would turn into something like the MSO. I'm trying to put together a list of dates, sponsors, costs, riders, prizes, and to add to all that there is lots of legality (waivers/making sure no one sues me for them trying a 630 to faceplant)
I for one can personally say that trying to attempt something like this is extremely hard, but I am going to continue doing this so hopefully we can have something big for next year.

I would like to see a circuit but i think the first step would be to get MSO rolling and the site all treaked out.
Spirit is a good location because there is more then enough room in the terrian park there. And always more then enough snow to build what ever crazy feature we can come up with. the only bad part is its a far drive from people not in wisconsin and minnesatoa. To bad there was a place in the middle of everyone. shit tyrol kind of is. Any other idea's??

mabye with a Circuit have a few smaller events then have MSO be the final event or something.
The top 3 winners from the Circuit stops. would be automaticly quailfied for slopestyle finals or something like that. just a idea.
All times are Eastern (-5)
