yea dude, this year was the beginning of blue mountains domination over the east coast (at least in canada - not sure what stratton and shit had for park this year). fuckin - kick ass rails, big jumps (with actual steep landings for a while - something that is almost unheard of at blue), and the supa pipe (granted it's flat... they really gotta move that shit).
alright, i'm done my pointless post now...

it would be awesome if the pipe was moved up 100 ft. then take the last 100ft off and put a hit right under it.

What they should do is extend it out all the way to the lift towers of that double there and also make it so you can come down the skier cross thing all winter so they could build bigger stuff up top. But ya, it was sweet this year, the pipe in the trees was even really good for a while, and the hip at the bottom of that pipe was a good idea. That jump with the triple takeoff was amazing though, you could not over shoot that thing.

Shit man, my friend and I drove 13 hours over to Blue from Wisconsin and we were so stoked. By far the best set-up we played on this year. Doug and crew has that park dialed and Jodi ruled it making the Coors event happen. Definately worth the drive.

I missed the last 4 weeks (and from what i heard, the best 4 weeks) of the season at blue cause of a knee injury i sustained overshooting the big booter by about 30 feet. Im not to thrilled about that, i really wanted to ski in the coors event :/
Im all up for an even better park next season thou, extending the pipe would def help, and either extending the double chair or opening the park from the top would also be very cool.

anyone know what blue's got in store for next year? my calculations conclude that blue mtn should take over the east coast by 2005 at teh latest. .. and does anybody have any footy from triple challenge or huck 'n' chuck?

yea - um... i'm not sure how much they want it to be known so i won't say it on here - but if doug and jake get their way, next year we will have one DOPE box at blue. what i can tell you is that next year around the time of the coors light comp we will be getting three new bitchin' rails again (this year we got the s rail, wave rail, and long rail)... along with that we will have better looking jumps (gonna have mellow kicks again next year - none of that quick kick shit... it's just ain't about that at blue - unless we get into the wu-tang or step up shit again), I will make sure there will be one big dope hip, the pipe should be good, and who the fuck knows what else - big rythem jumps in the playground maybe? we'll see.

oh, and one day in the near future the pickle pipe will be the best pipe ever. it's steeper than the main pipe so it will solve all the speed problems, it's got trees on both sides so it looks dope... they've just been lazy with it all these years... it's a bit narrow, but whatever - if you're on it than it don't matter how quick the walls come.

Yo, we were really stoked with how the year turned out.
I know that David Lesh has some footage from the triple challenge, and so do I. I'll try to get some pics of the new rails on here.
For next year, we are going to try to get the park more up to full capacity earlier in the year. New rails will come as well, as to what they are the team will be sitting down over the summer and figuring it out.
If anybody has suggestions as to what they want to see happen, please post it so that we've got an idea what you want.
I want blue mountain to have the best park in the east. It will take a few years, but I will make sure that we get closer and closer by the year.
Pickle pipe should be wider. Hopefully that will happen this summer. Plus, we're going to make the big deck for that bottom booter out of dirt, so that we save snow and it gets up quicker.
We'll see.
I'll get some pics up ASAP!
I'm over it.

comming from the chick that made out with darryl... :P
yeah the park was sick. good job doug and pete and everyone else. if i hadnt been broke after buying a car i woulda been up alot more.. but um since im moving to the rockies for next season i cant say much since i wont be skiing blue. but moving the pipe up 100 feet or so.. would definatly be a good idea. hell i say move it up to the side on skiers right where we had the in run for last years coors light comp. and get a rope tow or something to get to it.. its way steeper there.
im out

you trying to make of her cryss?
people who live in glass house's shouldn't throw stones (it's all a conspiracy to make fun of me isn't it? ISN'T IT!)
and I agree that more jumps are definitly neccesary - and if I get my way than there will be more jumps, or at least feel that way - because the park is on such a flat slope we can't build too many big jumps so we can only fit like 3 big jumps with the space that we have... and with all those rails we don't have too much room for too many more smaller jumps... I have an idea and if it works than it will make the jumps we do have better and stuff... not sure if you understand what i'm saying but again - if i get my way it'll be better.
because of the space, vert, and slope we have to work with it's all about flow... quality over quantity. ('cept for when it comes to rail - the more rails the better - we are east coast, why not have crazy rails?... all you kids just gotta learn to do good on the rails... you have to learn them eventually)

and it's funny that you praise pete... hehe - if you end up reading this peter - how's it been since the end of the season? stop bitching 24/7... it got really funny after a while.
COMPTON! WHAT, WHAT! straight outta' the projects of Tyrolian, betta recognize.
and mike - welcome to the club... dan, charles, (you?), and me are all gunning for a park tech job for next season (that i know of - there's always a ton of people who want the job... this is gonna be my third year for tying to get the job... and really it's the first year of the three where i actually have a good chance)

I still dont get why you guys call that pipe in the trees the pickle pipe, ha. But ya, if you could get a jump up like that big bottom one with the triple takeoff up in like Jan. that would be sweet. The only thing that I would like to see new for next year would be a huge double sided hip, like that one at the coors lite winter classic 2 winters ago, that was sick, to have something like that as a permanent feature would be nice.

If I remember right at one point it was slightly curved... like a pickle!
Ya I'm not sure what I'll be doin next year. I'll try for the park tech job. If not then I'll be back in hockley valley, because they said they'd let me groom and do snowmaking there. (and theres noone there that can build a hit, I had to sit in with the groomer to actually build a good one)

heres my theory: you can fit 3 hits in a row on the far skiers right (like at the end of this year). The another 3 right beside those. Then another three 2 on the other side of the pipe. The rails can sit in the shed, where a good rail belongs :)

Next year we will be putting more focus (and some summer grading) into that bottom jump. So hopefully that will mean that we can get it up to full standards as soon as possible. There's even talk of having the option to enter the park from the top as well, so that you can hit the jump line easier. We'll see if that happens.
We will try to have multiple takeoffs on the jumpline so that there are differences in sizes you can hit, and I would also love to see a quarterpipe at the bottom.
As for the park job, let the games begin. Whoever can send me footage of building a big mound of dirt the fastest wins. :)
I'm over it.
