Brighton's jumps kind of suck, but they always have some super fun, creative jib features (but the rails are all pretty much ollie-on, which takes some getting used to). It's a much better place to be on a powder day...lots of cool drops...great bc access...
Park City has the whole perfectly-manicured big jumps thing going for it. There are 4 parks with pretty much every size jump and every kind of rail you'd ever want. As far as real terrain though, it's kind of beat. Jupiter usually gets skied out in a few hours (the pow at Brighton lasts for days), and it doesn't seem like there are many drops or technical lines around.
Park City has a very resorty, destination-spot, high intensity, big-pro-scene-in-the-park vibe. Brighton is more low-key, laid back and snowboard centered.
im in this situation too. i will be in utah next year and i love park but i know id get so sick of just PC, the terrain there isnt very good. how much are brighton passes?
I think student passes to brighton were like 500 or so for anytime, including nights, which is huge if you hadve classes during th day. And a PC student pass is only 300, so, it's not too bad. Honestly, i think i'm just gonna work my ass off and get an Alta/Bird, Brighton, and PC. I'm gonna wait and see what my classes are and see, but i see myself riding at all of those.
Dude. Don't even mess with the scene at PC unless you're just a park rat. Head to Brighton. You will not regret one moment of it. You'll get the park, which is Pretty good, so you can up your game there. But the money is in the BC access and all the hidden spots around the resort. Get hooked up with some locals and you'll be lovin' life.
if you're a park rat, get a pc pass. if you can handle an ok park and enjoy powder that lasts for weeks (literally), cliffs of all shapes and sizes, dozens of epic secret stashes, unparalleled backcountry access, virtually unlimited kicker potential, super fun rails that are pretty low-risk but challenging, a relaxed and fun atmosphere, and sick snowboarders and skiers who all get along and support each other, get a brighton pass. if you're rich, maybe consider both. but i would suggest instead buying a brighton pass and using your extra $300 to feed the homeless or something. oh...brighton also has one unbelievably gorgeous liftie. but she's mine, so you all stay the hell away.
