Look Bindings. Do they rip out?

I have heard some stuff on here about Look Bindings ripping out of skis like the Line Elizabeths and other skis because of the narrow screw pattern on the heel piece of the binding. do you guys think i need to worry about this or will the PX12's be fine for my Public Enemies?

that case was somewhat special. Elizabeths have very soft cores and no mounting plate. Not a lot of other complaints about looks ripping out.

ya im not too worried seeing as how the PE's have the mounting plate and also they are alot stiffer than the elizabeths.

i think it defintiley has to do with the ski. I ripped a heel piece out of my seth pistols but that was because the core waas shot from skiing a lot on them. I have had no compalaints on the looks I have on other skis though including public enemies.

most bindings rip out if the DIN setting is too high. your foot is supposed to come out before the binding is able to rip out

px12s should be fine. it was a problem with the 04/05 and older ones with the turntable heel (racestock exempt). problems with JP vs. Juliens as well.

^yeah older look pivots heel screw pattern is very close. Thus making it easier to pull out b.c the force is spread over less area. Anyone who knows physics can understand this. A bindign with a wider pattern is more favorable. The PX's heel pattern is different from the older pivot... so, you'll be fine.

the hole pattern isnt why they changed the binding from the pivot to the px. if that was so then they would have just changed the baseplates on the binding and save a shit ton on r&d.

Don't worry about it at all, I have the P12 jibs on my PEs. They work awesome.
Looks are awesome bindings, probably the best in the market. The narrow screw pattern is probably the only problem they have and it is minor.
Yay for Look.

its mostly up the the ski. simple though,, as said, px is a good choice because of the drill pattern (and just the binding in general) and old looks are great too, but epoxy them in.
if youre mounting turntable looks on public enemies, for gods sake epoxy your binding in.

usually its the ski that is at fault when they rip out, not the binding. i have never had any problems with the p12 or p12 jibs that i have had

I've seen every type of binding break, so by your logic we shouldn't use bindings anymore. You shouldn't lose all faith in a company because of one incident, only question their product if something repeatedly goes wrong.
