Ok...so basically, I got an Ipod Video, it didn't work properly, so I sent it back, and they sent me the same fucking ipod with updated software...so now I have to send it back in hopes that they will actually DO something about it...has anyone else had shitty experiences like this with Apple?
Well i had a 3rd gen for a while, a couple years back, and then the screen cracked. I got another 3rd generation where the backlight didnt work and it broke from water damage. Now i have a video and it seems to be working fine, no complaints so far.
I have had a total of 8 iPods all of whihc just break, then they send me a new one and i jsut freak out further, its the most annoying shit ever but i got the replacements for free so watever
ya although the ipod is awesome, the customer service is so so. had you bought it from crutchfield.com they would have sent you the new ipod first, then you return the broken one with the same box. i had that happen to me and they overnighted me a new one.
i just gotta give aple props or what happened. over the past few months my macbook pro cable was melting last week it finally sparked and went out so i caled them up and told them what happened yesterday. today while i was mowing a DHL truck and dropped off a new one. Now that's fucking service, literally 24 hours after i called it in. Yayaayayayyayaay
i've herd things on both sides of the spectrum when it comes to there customer service. alot of stories like yours, but alot of stories where they're really help full and fast.
Thats so strange, apple products have always worked so well for me, and in the rare occasion that they do go haywire, Apple costumer service fixes it no problems.

But I get what you're saying. I would MUCH rather have a Zune, but my bro got one only to find that they only work with PCs. That thats fucking stupid. Awsome MP3 player working with shitty computers and vice versa; you just can't win!
is that really fucking you over? OR is it fucking with you? Since you still have your ipod and you can still send it back again, i don't think they fucked you over, they just fucked with you. Turned you around and gave you one little pound in the ass, not multiple till they O and your ass needs stitches. Your good to go.
My sister told me this story of one of her friends in Australia who got a powerbook, and desperately needed it to finish his thesis for his masters. He had bought his computer 18 months prior to his hard drive breaking. He didn't get the 3 year service plan/warrenty cause he didn't have enough money, so he got the one year. He went to the apple store and tried to get a new g4. They said, no, you needed the 3 year service plan, we cant help you. So he talked to the regional apple austrailia office. they gave him the same thing. They wouldn't help him at all. He needed to finish his honors thesis. Years of work had the possibility of being for nothing cause he needed a new laptop. He asked apple to at least let him rent one. they said no. they wouldn't help him at all. He found a way to call steve jobb's office. He talked to his secretary or representative, explained his situation. she wouldnt do anything. he went through it again and kept calling. Next thing he got was a call from apple austrailia telling him to pick up his new powerbook, and tons of other software.
While, you situation is no where near as bad. You can keep going up the chain, because im sure steve jobbs wants what is best for his customers.
