Man I'm starting to get pissed off at ebay. I've ordered 2 DVD's, both of them are burnt rips. These DVD's are really rare, which is why I spent quite a bit of money on em, and some asshole is just ripping them. So luckily I have paypal security, but the thing is in order to change this shit, I gotta get word out to anybody shopping on ebay.
Here are some ways to spot a rip(any 1 of these will suffice):
1. It has a purple data side. DVD's are supposed to have a silver underside, copies almost always have purple or blue or something along those lines.
2. Check the DVD if it smears. Apply a bit of water to the DVD, if the title or a picture or anything smears, its printed, and therefore a copy.
3. Shine a light on the DVD cover. If you can see a ring of discoloration around the center of the DVD, then its cover is not original, therefore a copy.
4. If there is a problem with the chapters, or any programming aspect of the DVD, its almost definately a rip.
The DVD's I have recieved that are burnt are "Threads" and "Radiohead live at Glastonbury." Phil Gozzy and Mrs Videos are the culprits behind this shit.
