i have an 05 kona stuff, and i ride dirt jumps, trails, drops , urban and a little downhill here and there. i am kinda looking into getting a dually frame although nothing over 5 inches. I am thinking maybe the kona howler or cowan DS. how well would these fare in the riding situations i do? and also if i put a 150mm fork on the front of either would it fuck everything up? ( they are both 4 inch rear wheel travel) o and p.s i ride in ontario but may be going to the north shore/ whistler for a week in the summer, and would like a dually for that and general riding. hope you can help and thanks for your time NS!

Putting a 150mm fork on the front of a 4" bike will throw it's geometry off, you won't be able to climb to well with that setup. I could recommend a couple bikes, but it all depends on what you're willing to spend. I'm into the same sort of thing as you are and right now I'm checking out the Yeti 575 or Santa Cruz Heckler for my next bike. Just do some research and find out what sort of bike will be able to take what you're going to put it through and narrow it down from there.

yea i looked at the heckler its pretty sweet and its less money just for the frame, i think ill either just get a bigger fork for my kona stuff or buy a new frame (cowan ds)

dont buy a bigger fork for your stuff thats just stupid. and ya get a smaller suspension bike so you can do everything with it.like cove hooker, heckler, 4 by, etc.
if your going to be in whistler a while yes get a full suspension, it will be worth it.

ill only be at whist. for a day but ill be riding north shore every day for a week. i dont want a big back shock cause i ride alot of xc

this one is the kona cowan frame (dirtjumps) and it is 1 grand US so i can get it shipped for $1300 ish canadian and it comes with the shock

this one is the kona howler frame (4 cross) it is $699 US and im not sure if it comes with the shock

k i think im getting the howler (Red one) cause i can order it for 699 from my shop with a shock and it would be way betker for what i do

i would suggest the cannondale gemini they have ajustable travle 5 to 7 inches. its a little more then you looking for but i think that bike would be great for the trpe of ridin you do.

if your gona get a new frame id get the owler, and you dont want a 150 fork with that size of bike, it will throw the gemotry all off. Im do most of the same stuff you do and i ride a specialized p2, its a fricken amazing bike, soo solid. it sounds like you are going for a slightly higher bike than my self thou, the banshee chaparal is a really solid bike, but the cost is up there

get a santa cruz blur 4x,they dont have big rear travel but the frame is hard enough to take big hits.(dont no what it costs in Canada)

yea im gonna go for thwe howler i think and ill just keep my 110 mm fork and on all my other shit. my stuff does rule but i like fullys more
