What ski would you choose between Sir Francis Bacon and Prophet 100 size 186.
It would be especially for pow, and and a bit off all mountain.
You think the SFB will be too soft??
Thanks

Actually usually my backcountry is into tree, or in quite tight spot. Sometimes i have the opportunity to have some bigger line, but not so often indeed.
But i like to go fast so i would like a ski that can hold pretty weel at fast spped (maybe the Bacons are too soft)

Most people are just speculating, guessing from the dimensions, and lots of hearsay...from people who actually know what they're talking about. **Name Drop Warning**. I skied a couple days with pollard and he was on them(although in his prototype 150mm) and we talked about them. My ski next year for sure.

that's a great idea. i love the prophet 100's. i don't really like the lizzies, but you're a small guy, so i'm sure they'd be fun in the trees.

At 150lbs you aren't going to fles the 100 in the 186. Go with the Bacons. I have skied both, and weigh 40lbs more than you and I really like both, but prefer the 130s overall in pow. At your weight the Bacons are for you bro.

i heard the took out some of the metal thats around the core of the prophets for the 130... to make it lighter... this would make it softer right? is it?

maybe you r right indeed.
So i could go with bacons , and then buy a not Twin tip ski for big mountain(like rossi b squad)
taht could be the right choice i think..one for pure fun in backcountry and one for serious big days

I've skied the 100's and watched pollard ski the sfb/talked to him about the differences.
-SFB's are softer than the invaders.
-100's are stiff with extra titanium in them.

There was never a metal layer in the final production 130's. Only a few really early prototypes had the metal matrix of the 100 and they were tanks.
The new 130 for '07 is the same ski as the '06 with a new paint job.
All times are Eastern (-5)
