Help Me With My Travel Plans/ Ideas for the Summer!

Well, it's getting to be that time agian...I've got less than a week left in school so I'm trying real hard to find a job and thinking ahead to where I want to travel this summer. As of now I don't have much planned out- just flying to a friends lakehouse in Texas next week to drink and jetski (I can't for a while bc of my shoulder) and then road tripping fear and loathing style across Texas, New Mexico and back to Boulder with some cool side trips planned. But I'm planning on doing a big international trip at the end of the summer. As of now I'm thinking about going trekking through Peru in late July/early August. I really want to see the Andes and what better time to go see some 6000 meter peaks than in the middle of winter? I had thought about Mongolia, but I'm going to save that till probably next summer because airfare to Mongolia is pretty damn expensive. The only other thing I have in mind is going to visit my brother where he will be surfing in Indonesia all summer, but he's going to be on a really remote island and it will cost about $2000 to go there, so I'm not sure if I will have the money.
I really have no interest in going to Europe right now, but other realistic ideas are welcome. Generally I'm limmiting options to the Caribean, Central America, and South America because it is cheaper to get there than it is to go to say...New Zealand (although I really want to go there).

Hmmm..scandanavia and northern europe...and partying!!!
Very tempting! I'll think about it, but living expenses there are sky high.
And I don't really have a whole lot of money to throw around. I can easily do a trip to Peru for under $1500. I'm a couch surfer, so once I get someplace I stay on peoples couches for free.
Off to the last Ancient Greek History lecture of the year!

Also you should look into Shanghai, China.. One of the most diverse multi cultural cities in the world.. It's growing everyday and its a beautiful city. It shouldnt be that expensive either so i would recommend checking it out.

China is also on my list, but it probably makes sense to do China and Mongolia at the same time. That is, fly to China, travel for maybe a week or two, and then take a train to mongolia and trek around for another 3 weeks or so. That would most likely be next summer.
I was thinking about Nicaragua because I haven't been anywhere tropical in a while (I was going to Jamaica over spring break before I got hurt) and Nicaragua is supposed to be really safe now and also cheap to travel to.
So my options as of now are-
-Peru
-Indonesia
-Nicaragua
-St. John (because I love it there and you can camp on the beach)
-Costa Rica
I'm still leaning towards Peru.

and your idea just got a little more convincing. When are you going over there?
Hmm...Sweden/Germany or Peru? A tough call for sure.
