okay last night late, like im gunna say 11 oclock east coast, on A&E there was a movie called UNited 93, anyoen esle see it, i really didnt wanna watch it but im thinking some how it was the same one as in theaters which is kinda weird
so in saving private ryan were the prodecers trying to make money off the thousands that died on D-day? This movie is about how we fought back on that day. Its just showing people what happened.
You people are confusing the movies...the one you saw on tv was the made for tv movie that came out a few months back...the one in the theaters is a different movie..not on tv. and it is definitley way too early to start making movies and such about 9/11, it was only 5 years ago...at least wait a good 10-15 years beforing making a mockery of horrible event.
i totally agree with you. i saw the movie last night, and it may have been one of the most moving films i've ever seen. since i live just miles from the city, many of my friends and relatives knew people or were related to people who had died on spetember 11th. knowing this i was first reluctant to see the movie having the same attitude that i wouldn't support the making of a movie about a tragic event. then i thought about saving private ryan or any other war movie and decided i had to see it. the movie was not just about the tragic day, it was about the courage and bravery that those people on united 93 displayed. do yourself a favor, go see the movie and come out of the theatre with a whole new perspective on what happened.
This weekend 10% of the procedes are going to the families of the people who died on flight 93. I'll be honest I thought it was going to suck also but once i heard the families of the people really loved the movie and supported it 100% and that it was getting really good reviews by the movie critics I decided to go see it.
All I can say is WOW. It is a movie everyone should see. It was very very very very well done. It pays tribute to the people who lost their lifes. It's done very respectfully and paints an accurate picture of what happened.
Before you write this movie off as a money grubbing scheme go see it. I recomend it to everyone. My heart was pounding through some of the scenes.
yeah i actually want to see it. it looks like a really good movie. and i dont think that hollywood is trying to make money off of 9/11. i look at it as a way to inform people of what really happened. because i sure as hell wanna know.
the guy who made the movie refused to make it unless he had the consent of every single family of the passengers. and he also went into such detail with accuracy that he wanted to know what they were wearing on the day of 9/11. and yes this is confirmed
I completely agree. We could not even speak to each other for a half hour after this movie. 4Skizzle and I were on the fence about seeing it, but once we learned about the families supporting it and the donation of some of the proceeds you realize that the director just wanted to show the stories of those that were able to fight back.
It shows how they learned of their intended fate from their family members when they called to say good and I love you, they were the only group who had a chance to try to save themselves. Would you have done anything else? This movie did not focus on one character, in fact we could not even pick out the much talked about Todd Beamer, famous for "Let's Roll". United 93 showed each and every character was part of the team, except for one guy.
This movie should be seen by everyone, not so that you don't forget 9/11, who could forget, but so you can see what went on behind the scenes that day on the ground and in the air.
As for those of you who think it's all about the money, think about the families who lost loved ones that day and how they support this movie. Sometimes Hollywood does good things for people.
it could just be a way to make money ya...but it also does put a different light on one of the greatest tragedies in our history...if its well done and the families believe it gives them the respect they deserve then why not
i also agree. someday it can be acceptable, just as today we make movies about WWII and vietnam. but we don't mind that because there is such a time barrier between the movie and the actual event. this movie has an extremely small barrier, and i believe that the event is still quite fresh in all of our minds, and none of us want to be reminded of it.
every single relative of the passengers on the plane agreed to the movie, so it must capture what they victims family and the producers think best fit the scenario
Yeah, I watched a show on it. Supposedly they had the permission of the family members and even their support. The father of one of the men killed actually endorsed the movie. He said that it was a story of bravery that needed to be told. I guess the movie's dead-on accurate too. I don't know if this movie was made so much as entertainment as it was a historical film. Another thing I heard was that it's an extremely low-budget film.
Personally, I don't know if I want to see it. I might eventually, but I don't know. It just seems too soon for this movie to be coming out. In a few years I guess, but it's only been 5 years. Meh, guess that's just me.
Also, they're donating 10% of the opening weekend revenues to an on-site memorial.
ya bourne supremicy was the sickest movie ever they are supposed to make a third one called bourne ulimicity or somthing and about the 93 united if the families all agreed it must all be for a good cause and to bring light to it and let pplknow how it happend its not like the producers would want to use it negativly
we dont even fucking know what happened. The whole 9/11 is sketchy. Especially the pentagon. Making a movie on somthing so hazey ( not knowing alot of the facts for ) is retarted ( mentally challenged ).

Bringing this thread back to say I saw the film a few days ago and really didn't think it was very good at all. And how they even know that's remotely close to how things happened, I have no idea. I wasn't to impressed.
I still cant figure out how they made all those cell phone calls...
I'm not in the 'Loose Change' camp by any means, its crazy to think the government would kill its own people...but still, how did they make all those phone calls from altitude?
I saw the one in theaters after seeing the made for tv one, Believe it or not the tv one was actually better, in so many ways,
I was expecting it the other way but geez that movie was terrible compared to the one on A&E.
