in a rugby game last night i got a really bad cramp in my calf after a long sprint but after it was streched out it was still stiff and i could walk on it and stuff. Then in the middle of the night i woke up with another super painful one where i couldnt move my leg at all. And it happened again when i was eating breakfast today then again while will sitting down doing a chem lab. The cramps are really painful ones where i can barly move my ankle.
Our trainer is stupid and says its dehydration but it cant be. anyways does anyone know otherwise?

If you hurt muscles (strain or rupture) other muscles may spasm in order to protect it. I'd go see a doc, they're going to be able to tell you more by palpating it.

my first thougt was dehydration too man. it could be something else nutrition related. There are a few minerals that could be low, commonly sodium, if you were sweating alot. Potassium, calcium and magnesium are also often involved in muscle contraction.
A good bet is to get in alot of liquids, in case the athletic trainer is right. However, choose liquids such as gatorade (for sodium and potassium) and milk or calcium fortified soy milk (for calcium obviously.) magnesium usually isn't a problem in well nourished ppl but you can try to eat more nuts, vegetables, whole grains, seafoods and even chocolate.
