I agree with sweetcoz, but I'd like to take it further. The problem is that these people live where they do! Most of the nations with terrorists in fact don't have oil (Afghanistan) or have an agrarian economy. They seriously have no basis for a source of income. Even if you're educated you're still left w/ the hopelessness most are subjected too simply because of their geographical location and backwards government. This feeling of hopelessness coupled with the backwards government leads to the fusion of nationalism and theology. These people are so ingrained in their theology that it is used to substantiate their lack of tolerance for others, especially westerners. Western exploits of this world such as cheap manufacturing is basically the nail in the coffin. Really these countries only chance at being successful economically is to become specialized industrial nations independant of western control. Then education can actually have a purpose. Really the problem is that their geographical location has led to poverty and hopelessness that then leads to a behaviorist society instead of an existential one where the lack of free thinking leads to this lack of tolerance and hatred for others in a better situation. They really need to just live somewhere better...

youthinasia, you officially enter my list of dumbshits. Afghanistan has NO oil NONE WHATSOEVER. The only thing it does is border the Caspian sea. Which many countries are interested in pipelining oil out of. Afghanistan borders Iran, and Turkmenistan (which is has a nice sum of money because it sits on the Dauletabad oil field, and you don't hear about it too much because they have money and hence less problems of the middle eastern sort). So for the last time, Afghanistan has NO oil... dumbshit.
