actually im nor sure.. booth things are sooo damn fun! maybe park is a little better, but freeride is sooo damn fun too! Specially if it is much powder!
Wow, never seen this one before. I would like to add to the record that park skiers are the best SKIERS EVER! If you suck at park you suck at skiing period. I always ski park on powder days, its nice and empty so its great for learning new grabs n stuff. People think freeriding takes more skill, theyve obviously never tried a 360 on a groomed jump before, HA!
powder is sick, but i would do both, cause when no one is in the park and the landings are soft it is a really good time to learn new spins and inverts, i say ski the morning in the pow and then hit up the park and throw down
Word. In the early mornings till almost closing you run the pow, then the last hour you spend in the park that now has got pow landings and try out new stuff.
ur crazy, why give up a day of phenomonal skiing for park . u can ski park whenever you want it will always be there, a powder day ends after the day really.
and u probably cant ski bumps for ur life cuz ive seen incredible skiers that suck at park.
I'll ski park on a pow day. I'm just a park rat thats all. Now am I down to session a big gap or kicker in the BC? Sure, but most of the time, I like park even on a sunny pow day. I'm more willing to try shit on jumps.
But the whole "park skiers are the best skiers in the world" is retarded. Are you familiar with Seth Morrison?
freeride all the time baby.
Never skied more than a day of park and won't ski more than 2 hours in it at a time next year.
You can just do so much more in the BC and in powder. The only thing you can't do are rails, and I can't do those at all.
Yeah see I'm a jibber at heart, I can hit rails all day and not get tired of it, cause there are always more technical variations or whatever. I mean, I love BC jumps but I can still jump in the park and get my rail fix.
if you can ski at all then you should know that skiing the steeps of powder, hitting the cliffs, and landing switch in pow without any kickers or tabletops is the essence of great freestyle skiing.
But if you like the park more than a good day where you can try any trick without hurting yourself, that's good with me.
now getting back to the real thread, i like park and stuff, but i hate just spending ALL the time in it. i mean even if its not 1 foot of pow, me and a few friends can have a hella good time just dicking around. to me thats way funner then staying in park all day.
Yes I am crazy, but honestly you absoutely SUCKKKKK at skiing if you can't snowplow switch in the park and AT LEAST 270 on rails. What says skiing more than standing still on a rail?
sometimes it kinda depends on where u live.. i live in vt and we barley ever get a good powder day so i stick in the park untill we get the snow. i my self ike a good powder day better
do what you like - for me, park is fun and i love it in the spring - but i'll take FREERIDING on a pow day ANY DAY! besides, if i rode park all year, i'd have to change my licence plate from 'FREERDR' to 'PARKRAT'.
