So, i know it's really early to be talking about next school year, but i just found out i'm going here, and realized so are a ton of other people. If you're going to the Univeristy of Utah as a freshman this fall, say "YEAH!" or "JEA" for you park rats. Where are you guys gonna be skiing at? And if you want a room mate and are staying in the dorms say so.. i wanna a cool room mate who shreds gnar.
haha are you kidding man, UofU is a cake walk to get into. I was accepted with a 2.7 GPA and ave-to-below ave SAT scores. forget exactly what they were but nothing that great. i know it was above 1000 though ;)
I cant believe so many pounders are moving out here, this is ridiculous. On a brighter note, season passes are 349$ to Park city for UFS members (utah freeski club) so be sure to buy that pass and go there, it's the best skiing in utah bar none son.
i go to Northern Michigan University and i knew some kids my freshman year who hadn't taken the ACT or SAT and were just on acedemic probation for their first two semesters. granted, most of them didn't make it, but just the fact that they were let in is kinda weak.
I'm going there next year (although move in day is Aug 18th which is less than four months from now, so you can't really call it next year) as a freshman. I got in with a 3.5 GPA and a 2100 new SAT score, and a 31 ACT score. I'm trying HARD for a single dorm, hopefully in Chapel Glen (but I don't know how hard it'll be to get a single as a freshman).
Skiing wise, I'm getting an Alta (for sure) pass and a Solitude (tentatively, might get it for somewhere else) pass.
How hard is it to schedule your classes freshman year to make it easy for skiing? Probably pretty tough but oh well... I'm bringing a car so at least I can split whenever I want (with gas the way it is, anyone who wants to throw down gas money can hitch a ride... LCC mostly)
haha ya i am being serious. i cruised through highschool. fresh/soph year i was in all honors classes and getting good grades but then i realized i really dont care and its a waste of time so i just took all easy classes, never did homework and got a 2.9 or 3 or something like that. utah is very easy to get into. and ACTs arent thta hard either but it helps if you actually do the science section, haha i just guessed cause i got so ADD towards the end of the test
science on the act was hella hard for me too. thats such a long test alltogether. and it didnt help that i took it in the "bad" part of madison. i was a scrawny white 7th grader surrounded by like 6 foot 4, 300 pound offensive lineman on both sides (both of "african american" descent). but yeah thats awesome i guess if you can get in with the kind of grades you guys are talking about. I might actually look into going there
do it. utah was really sick when i went out there this winter to check it out. skiing at snowbird was fucking phenomenal and the campus/dorms are nice too. should be fun
