I've been going to a skistore and raiding them of their boxes, but im scared they are getting annoyed. How do you guys suggest shipping skis? does FedEX or UPS provide a big enough box?

Keep going to that store, at the shop I work at we have to break down the boxes and stack them and keep them all in a backroom until spring time, and we go and recycle them. If that shop cares they're doing some highly illegal with those boxes...like shipping body parts.
But to answer the question about UPS/FedEx, I'm almost 100% positive you can get long ski boxes from them.

Yeah, UPS will usually take multiple boxes and tape them together to make one giant box that will fit your skis nicely. But they do charge you for each box used, so it can add up depending on the size of your skis.

depending on hte length of the ski and if they have bindings you can get two fedex tubes stick the skis in them then tape them together. this has worked for me in the past.
