I thought this book was ok. It defintally wasnt that crazy. I dont even see the contraversy in it. Its a fictional book!!! By the was has anyone else read any of Dan Browns books? They are all exactly the same. The only thing that is different is the characters. The plots are very simular. If Tom hanks wasnt in the movie I would say that it would suck but That man is movie gold. Just seeing what you guys think that have read the book?
Ya im not talking about the stealing im talking about the contrvesy before that shit like with the catholic church. haha I just read an article about the Albino nations or some shit gettin pissed about the movie haha.
im sure it sounds like it did, thats why courts dropped the case right? one author said he was going to publish a book with the exact same story line and stuff but had no evidence so they dropped it. i loved the book!
angels and demons is the best, followed by the dc. then i like digital fortress, because i dont know much about computers, so it facinated me. deception point was my least favorite.
i was able to handle the similarites in story line in the langdon duo of books, but with the other characters in the same storyline format, i was a bit bored. the thing about angels and demons and the davinci code is the historical fiction the kept me engrossed.
most overrated book ever. it was an interesting story to read, but it was no good piece of writing that's for sure. he has absolutely no style and is too forward in his choice of vocabulary.
angels and demons is somewhat better but still, he is simply a blockbuster writer and is not a man of intellectual creativity on any sort of astonishing level.
the movie, however, will be intense. It is directed by the great Ron Howard and written by Avika Goldsman..the same team that did a beautiful mind and cinderella man. it's going to be fantastic. and it will be much better than the book, which is a rare occurence. I am so excited for this film I absolutely adore this pair's work together.
the book was hsit it was just A cheap version of populous fiction to sell to the mildy educated masses and make them believe they are reading something of high contraversy and intelegents
not at all, the controversy is the book tries to re-tell biblic events in the way that the catholic church would not have wanted, then saying that the catholic church has been lieing to the public about the holy grail and mary magdaline [sp] and about a holy bloodline of christ still being alive today
i havent read any of is other books, but the da vinci code was really good. they way he made the chapters short and ended each chapter with a cliff hanger kept me reading.
my friend read it and said it was amazing and he happens to be sitting next to me right now and he says "it's non-fictional fiction, as in its based on true events apparently. but only written into a mystery." and i can't wait to see the movie.
chia!
Read Angels and Demons first, it helps you get to know the main character (robert langdon) better and da vinci code does refer occasionally back to angels and demons. BTW..Loved these books, probably among my favorite books though yes, they are a bit overly hyped up.
i didn't think the book was too special. dan brown just isn't that great of a writer, but i was very interested in the history that it brought up so i went and read some books about that afterward. i think the movie will be really good, though. the whole time i was reading it i felt like i was reading a movie script.
I read Decption point first and wanted to punch him right in the nose. It is like someone watched a movie and then told me about it. No character devolopment no sub plot or in depth discussion. Then I read decption point again except this time it was calld Da Vinci code.
I felt his books to be entertaining but everybody acts like dan brown wrote the history himself. I saw a history channel special on that like 5 years ago.
Dan Brown is a hack and I hope people realize it soon.
you are soooooooooo educated. I nominate you to decide what is cool and what isnt for the rest of the world. Your opinion is one I hold very close to my heart.
Dude your such an emo bitch. Rebelling against whats is popular just to look more like a intellectual is fucking played out. Get a life or slit your wrists.
just because the book was easy to read doesnt make it bad. And if his all of his books are the same then he obviously has a style.
I really liked all his books. They kept me interested and I didn't have to try too hard to read them.
I feel like Tom Hanks is a terrible choice for the character because I always pictured that Langdon guy more like Indiana Jones and I can't get past Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump.
The reason theres so much controversy is cuz the stuff that he says makes sense and the catholic church is trying to cover there asses cuz they no it makes sense
nah he didn't, those other authors wrote a book about the same topic in the 80s, but it was not the same in any respect. you would think that they would have sued him before the book became such a smash if it really was plagiarism, they just wanted a piece of the pie. i've said that it's like star trek suing star wars.
as for the book? loved it! i can't wait for the movie. i agree, tom hanks is my favorite actor, and ron howard is one of my favorite directors.
I loved that book I red it in 2 "reading session" and by the way, yeah the book isn't true but it's based on hypothesis about those facts. SO there is some things that are true others that aren't and other's that we don't know... I red a book about that, what's true in it and what's false and there is surprisely a lot of hypothesis that have some facts to prove it and stuff. But it's still hypothesis.
