160mph in Germany on the Auto Ban I was shocked because it only felt like I was going 60mph over there because the road was so good and the cars are made so much better over there. Riding in Uncles Merceades.

The s2000 does 0-60 in about 5.5 seconds and the 1/4 mile in about 13.8 seconds. And there is no way you could shift from 2nd at over 100 miles an hour. I'm pretty sure you couldnt go any higher than 80 in second, especially considering its a six speed. And dont say i know nothing, cause my buddy owned one and I used to drive it quite a bit.

haha ok. well i actually drive one and know how to drive it. when you get to about 7000 rpms in 2nd your probably at about 95 mph, depending on how long you bled first and whether you can shift or not. then therese something called a vtech engine, designed for high rpms, kicks in and that baby goes.if you bleed 2nd long enough to about 8500-8700 rpms, youll get up there. i would never red line that car even though i dont think it would do major damage to the transmission. if you drive like that, every night just drain the antifreeze and put fresh antifreeze in, it allows the engine to cool real nice like new.

i still cant buy that your doing even 95 without topping out 2nd. another thing you should know is that mph and rpm's in each gear are directly related. holding 7000rpms in 2nd gear will keep you at the same speed everytime no matter how long you "bleed" 1st. each gear redlines at the same speed everytime. you wont redline say 2nd sometimes at 65mph and sometimes at 75mph it will always redline at the same speed. yes different cars will redline at different speeds in each gear but even 95 in 2nd gear is hard to believe. that would mean you could run a 1/4 mile race from a stop and never shift out of 2nd gear.

Like everyone else I call BULLSHIT.
I calculated top speed for 2nd gear at redline - 80mph. Youre about 45 mph short and then it can't do 125mph til youre in 4th.
BULLSHIT

noob. do you know anything?
i own an s2000, and i drive it, and i know what speeds/gears/rpms do what.
the numbers are based on test drives with proffessional drivers, not racers or any other driver. they dont bleed the clutch and let the shifts go longer. and short throw gear boxes let you get more out of the engine in lower gears.

what short throw gearboxes? no no.
maybe short throw SHIFTERS.
and that does not change anything with gear ratios. id be impressed that you actually took the time to change the 6 gears of your s2000 so you could do 125 mph in second. and then chirp third? hahhaha right.

in a 550hp ford gt, third gear tops out at 140. i doubt in SECOND your fucking s2000 can do 125.

i work on cars buddy. in order to make the shifters shorter, you need to close in the gearbox with a short throw kit, you can call it whatever you want they go hand in hand.
and you can chirp into 5th if you ride it hard and long, and you are quick with the clutch. do you even know what chirping gears is? its when you throw the shift so fast and the clutch so tight that the cars wheels dont adjust to the shifting transmission and the catch for a split second on the pavement/concrete whatever. therefore squealing/chirping.

I also have driven a supercharged S2000 with 350 hp to the wheels. even that car does not go 125 in second gear! you have no idea what you are talking about! The only way you could do 125 in second would be with super tall gears which would mean you would be way past the on ramp before you got to 125

Do I know anything? Well considering I design, build, and race cars I think I've got a bit of knowledge about drivetrains. Hell, its simple math anyways. Just google the calculations.
Speed in each gear is a defined value and can only be changed by adjusting the following: individual gear ratios, final drive, and tire size.
THATS IT
I dont give a shit how you drive, for a stock S2K you CAN NOT do more than 80 mph in 2nd gear. Get Michael Schumacher for all I care, even he can't drive an S2K above 80.
All times are Eastern (-5)
