Video quality

does the quality in a video matter only about the camera or the program your using to edit to. if program gives u better quality give me some programs i can buy.

im not sure about programs but i know that ur camera has a lot to do with the quality. and when you post it online, use putfile instead of you tube or nay other place like that, putfile has the best quality

if you are using some crap program there is a good chance that it is automatically compressing the video footage as it is uploaded. This is not good as the more compressed the video is, the lesser the quality. Check in the options menu to see if you can change the setting, it may or may not let you.

However, you need a high quality camera that you know how to use in order to get high quality video. thats the first step.

every video editing software that i've used offers the option of non-compressed capturing. Unless you're using something worse than iMovie or Windows Movie Maker, you don't need to worry about software quality issues with regards to the actual picture. Most of the quality of your video depends on the quality of the camera.

There are a ton of factors here...

1. Quality of the CCD/Camera you're using.
2. How you import your video.
3. If you're compressing the video for web / cd / video cd / ipod, etc.

Personally, I'm a huge fan of flash video if you're going to be showcasing it anywhere online.

Flash video is pretty good... but Quicktimes new H.264 codec delivers unbelievable quality for the file size.

Pretty much whatever the weekest link is. Whatever puts out the worst quality will be the decider. So you can have a crap camera and a High def prog or vice versa and it'll look bad.
