Casey Powell has confirmed that he will not be playing in the MLL this summer. The statement comes after Lax.com repeatedly asked for comment on his status this year.
Currently, Gary Gait and Mike Powell have also not signed their respective MLL contracts with the Bayhawks according to Baltimore Head Coach Scott Hiller.

The opportunity to participate in the 2006 World lacrosse Championships with many of the finest athletes to have ever played our sport is truly a highlight of my lacrosse career. For the next few months I will focus my efforts to help Team USA prepare to defend our 2002 World Championship.
Brine, the first name in lacrosse and Powell Brothers Lacrosse Camps have been very generous and supportive giving me the chance to accomplish Team USA's goal.
Regretfully, this commitment, combined with my work and camps, will not allow me to devote the time required to play for the Rochester Rattlers for the 2006 season. I will miss my teammates and fans of the MLL and wish them all the best.
