so im trying to lose like 10 pounds for summer and vacationa dall that goos stuff, anyone know a good diet thats easy tht goes ith working out to lose weight?
you are definately wrong, yes your body does break proteins down into amino acids.
but when it metabolizes carbohydrates it breaks the monosaccarides into pyruvates and then into either lactic acid or into acetyl co-a before they enter krebs cycle.
so to actually define the word metabolizing it means to break down a molecule untill your body lacks the ability to break it down further, so part of metabolizing proteins involves breaking them into amino acids.
the reson your urine has amonia in it is because of breaking down amino acids and being left with the byproducts.
if you ever study organic chemistry you will see that it is much easier to break the bonds within an amino acid then it is to break the bonds in a carbon chain (ie: the hydrocarbon tail that contains most of the molecules in a lipid)
your body does store protein... it's called muscle.
humans were designed to have very small amounts of fat in thier diet because untill the last couple thousand year when we have gotten good at animal domestication most of our food was fruit, then because the solid matter in most mammals is aproximatly 70% protein (that is the 70% of the 15-20% that isnt water) it meant that if you didnt have much fruit the next most plentiful supply of energy was protein.
i assume you were studying bio for about grade 10? or so?.
