yea i dont think this thread is directed at skateboarding considering its in ski gabber and nollies on skateboards are way easier than on skis...but nollie lips on skis are a ton easier than non lipslide nollies for rails
I took a while to figure that one out, just take more speed than normal and take a bigger angle than normal from the rail. also line yourself up further away, but its all in the timing which cant really be taught
nollie non lip - imagine this, going up to a rail, you gring left foot forward, you have to nollie ( jump off tips ) on to it from the left side of the rail. = most assured pain.
Normally if you are going to ollie (or jump) your tips go into the air first. Nollie is when you start with your tails instead. Lip is short for lipslide, which is bringing your tails over a rail instead of your tips when you are coming from either side (as opposed to straight on).
Now, when you are getting onto a rail from the side, its easier to go with your tips forward because you are doing a normal ollie, with your tips off the ground. When you nollie, your tails are off the ground so its easier to do a nollie lip.
A nose butter is when you are skiing normal and do a revert to switch, keeping your tails off the ground.
this thread makes me laugh. it started out with saying nollies (noot even specifically onto rails) is "mad hard", when they are actually fairly easy. after that, someone didnt even realize we were talking about skiing. then "nollies on skis are harer than on skateboards", and "i dont ROLLERBLADE so i dont know what nollie lipslide or nollie nonlip is". kind of ridiculous.
im not saying nollies onto rails or what evere is easy, but people should kinda try to raise there IQ a little.
yea, i find they are easier on street style down rails. you can take it down the rail a little bit and its no sweat. idk, i only saw one of mine on film and it was kinda iffy, but they feel super cool.
no itd be a switch nollie. at least in skating it doesnt matter if you take off from the nose its a nollie and if youre riding switch itd be a switch nollie. ya so on skis itd be a switch nollie
