Remember your first pair of skis ever?

I was just in my ski closet in the basement putting away stuff from this season when i found my first pair of skis ever. Really tiny Sunny skis (white with neon pink) with old as hell salomon bindings and my name stamped near the tip of the ski. i got them when i was 6. it got me thinking about how much fun i had on those as a kid and the real reasons i love the sport. these days its so easy to get caught up in the new equipment, whats the new style, how can i make my spins look better etc. while all of those points are a part of progression sometimes its good to remember your roots and not take things so seriously. so anyway anyone else remember or still have their first skis?

I skied on old school straight skis until I was probably 13, when I got Rossignol Bandits. Those were so light and so fun just to screw around on.

I first rented some weird Rossis. I can't remember what theyre called. I was 4.
Then I got some atomic GS race skis (the first pair I owned; I got em when I was like 9) and I still own them. I busted the tip off somehow and I have it all ducttaped/ghetto. I wanna rip around on them now cuz I reajusted the bindings to my boot size. Theyre like snowblades!

mine were sweet as rossi's, with the rooster on the front. they were straight skis that were blue, with red and white writing on them. I think they were 1990's

i had these bangin ass volkl's they were straight and single tipped in about 2001. and i was about 10 and i was like "hey what if i could ski backwards"? so i took my dank racing skis and i took a ski iron and tried to melt the back of the ski up into a twin tip. that didnt work so i tried to cut it into a tip shape but i just cut my hand really bad. i was a smart kid.
