getting video to pc

ok, i have a sony digital 8 camcorder, and i want to know how to get the video onto the computer. The problem is, its a 2001 model so there is no usb support, and i dont have an ilink cable, whatever that is. Also, i seemed to have lost the software that came with it. Is there any way i can get the video onto my comp

buy an ilink. and you may need an ilink card.

ok...thats the only way? i have some sort of lanc digital i/o thing, but i dunno if that will work, i just started doing this

give me the model of the camera and i will tell you every way you can get it onto your comp. theres usually a few options

yeah dude you need to connect it with an ilink cable. im almost positive theres no composite connectors on that cam? so if there arnt you will need to buy a firewire card (like $35) or if your computer is newer int might already have the IEEE 1394 interface.
