Put the binding argument to rest for a while. please?

All bindings have the chance of screwing up your knee. Sure, some are more durable than others. But please don't just make generalizations. I am 16 weeks out of an ankle injury and I still can't jog, all because the highly touted Look p12 jibs (2006 mind you) didn't release.

yep, bindings sometimes just dont release. I ended ripping an axial 120 heel right off the ski because it didnt release during one of my hardest falls of the season. Lucky I didnt seriously injure myself.

Shut up, all of you . All bindings break, all bindings hold you in, Your stupid ass's just dont know how to set bindings up right. plus you crash on your 900 attempts on 20 foot jumps after 600 degress and break your shit then whine about it. Its annoying who gives a fuck, stop talking about it they have been discussed enough search it and be done with it.

i don't think it's fair to blame an injury on a binding. that's why people tear their acl's, their binding's didn't release. but if they released that easily, you'd spend 3/4 of your day collecting your equipment instead of skiing. sometimes shit happens... yeah it sucks, but it happens.

My p10s never released right. I ripped them out twice this season, got them remounted with plugs, and the plugs just pulled out chunks of the core... still sick bindings though and I'm still gonna rock looks next year, there's no magic binding though, good thread.

all you ididots just turn your DIN up way to high. I see all these kids buying bindings where the base din is a 9 and they think they are so core because they have the p18 or salomon916. First of all you're not supposed to ride bindings and minimum DIN and secondly most people on this site will never need a DIN above 12. Most of the people on here are small 13yr olds who have never skied big mountain.

Alright, there is no such thing as a perfect binding. There is no possible (or known) way to make one that will consistently release at a given point in any scenario. Expecting that out of such a simple mechanism is ridiculous. Just accept the fact that given the right circumstances, no binding is 100% safe.

best binding i've ever been on were lines. hold you in tight and released when they were supposed to... to bad they only lasted 6 days hence the whole recall thing. i rock look now, best option in my opinion.
