Skiing video game

I know it may sound kinda gay, but it isnt, i'm interested in that kinda stuff. anyone know an affordable/free software to do video games? i would like to start off with a skiing game, and give it to newschoolers after.

I think the best awy to approach this from your standpooint canadian ski god, is to possibly try to make a mod. You need to know how to model, and code certain aspects, but the engine and all that are already there.
