I think I'd have to say that skiing is by far the greatest sport I have ever took part in. I don't know what it is about it, but I love it. It's just amazing. Maybe it's the fact of being able to explore, or just the sick feeling you get when you stomp that new trick you've been trying to learn. Or when you prove yourself wrong doing something you really think you couldn't do. Or could it be the feeling of floating over big booters and tables? It's all sweet.
It's kind of strange though. Before this year, at the end of the season I would usually be just as pumped to start skating again in the summer as I would to start skiing in the winter. But this year it's different. Skiing, just out of nowhere, blew me away this year for some reason. Even though this was my 5th year doing it.(i'm 16) I don't know why I like it so much more now but I do. Everyday I wish I was skiing. And skateboarding just isn't the same anymore. I think it might be the fact that I'm trying a bit more now and learning lots of new things. But just that learning makes it so much better.
There are so many things that are awesome about skiing. Things like the amount of effort and skill it takes to make things look good. Or taking pride in getting some sick gear. Learning new trick, like I already said is hectic, or meeting new skiers. It's espically sweet when you get someone seeing a skier do something and say.... they can do that? Everything about it is awesome. There's practically no downside to it. So don't denie it, it's awesome.
I don't know why I really felt like writing this, but I did. And I hope a lot of you newschoolers out there can relate to how much I like skiing.
Skiing kicks ass. Period.
