I was supposed to go to the High North ski camp all by myself. Already had it all planned out. But than my dad talked to this colleuge at work that said dont send you son across the country by himself. So now my dad is having second thoughts and wants someone, like my mom, to go with me. This Sucks.

I fucking hate my family. I'm 16 and no fucking trust whatsoever. And whoever gave me dad scond thoughts, FUCK YOU, everything was perfect until you had to open your pussy little mouth.

but seriously
my brother just turned 18 and was in mexico for 3months on nols,
is now working in tahoe till end of june(my parents live in new york)
and is hoping to go nepal afterwards.
but they wont let you fly on an airplane to a camp, a place made for people to go without their parents that are not old enough to go otherwise by themselves.

i went last year by myself on a plane from Cincinnati Ohio, connected Salt Lake City, then made my way there. It really isnt that big of a deal to go across the Canadian boarder, i mean what does your dad think will happen? get caught stealing canadian bacon or milk in a bag? i have a friend just like you who would have this happen to him and it makes me really pissed off when people talk about shit they have no experience in, such as sending your son across the country to ski camp.

i understand where ur coming from, i would hate if my mom came with me, no freedom. but on the note u have to remember that she is paying for u.

u best bet is to try and convince a friend to go along this way u can fly with them

I'm sure if everything was set for you to go to ski camp, but than your dad barges in and says your mom needs to go with you, you would be pretty pissed to.

Eh.. Dont trip. My parents were the same way. When I was 16, I was going to go to COC, but my dad thought i was to irresponsable or some shit.

when I was 17, I had a job, so I couldnt make it then either.

This year, I finally am going to go. I'm 18, and out of the fucking house.

Dont trip, Just wait man, it gets better when your 18 anyway.

Either way, even if your mom does go, its not like shes going to be skiing with you anyway...

try having a whole trip already planned out where you are driving cross country to go to hood to have the shit be perfect and then 10 days before it have "someones" dad call up and say no to that whole idea. he changed the entire trip plans for us, had to fly out there, take a taxi cab to hood from portland, hitchhike for 2 weeks straight, take a bus with a broken toilet from portland to seatle and a ton of other stuff we wouldnt have had to experience if we just drove out...damn bastard.

why dont you show them you are mature enough...i donno be like hey here is the phone number you call and see for yourslef that its safe, then they can actually talk to someone there and get all their questions answered by someone other then you....or offer to help pay....that might show them you really want to go.

i just wrote a check for the balance i owe momentum and droped it in the mail...ive been saving up since last summer.

most of you are ungreatful little fucks. first off, you owe your life to your parents...i don't care how strict or cheap they are...second, i wouldn't be too in a hurry to be "living by yourself" because it's not as glorious as you kids think when you have to pay for EVERYTHING! It's pretty fuckin sucky actually...esp. if you are thinking your just gonna move to the mountains and ski the whole time...you've got another thing comin.

Are you driving up to camp? If you are, then even I will have to agree that that is gnarly nuts.

My mom wouldnt even let me drive around the block when I was 16.. even when I had my license...

Wait you hate your family who is sending your spoiled ass to some ski camp? which I assume will cost them thousands of dollars, between food, admission, airfare, exc, Not to mention they buy all your ski passes/equipment, exc. Have some respect, and please don't reply to this like every other 16 year old (I deliver papers and buy EVERYTHING myself, because no one believes you, ok?)

dude it really doesnt matter, i went and my parents wanted to try to make a family outing of it, so they went and stayed at their hotel while i stayed with the camp. i saw them 2 times. once they were at the bottom of the chair up to the glacier getting lunch, and the other time i showed up at their hotel to get some more money.

seems like it's gonna suck, but camp was all the same for me as anyone else, and it was alot of help for when the airline tried to send our bags to a carnival cruise to alaska. so even if she goes, it'll still be dope. plus when she gets there and realizes theres really nothing for adults to do in whistler for a week, next time you want to go they wont want to go lol

On a side note maybe if you showed them you weren't a fuck up, they would probably trust you. You've obviously done some things to prove yourself unworthy in the past, sit your parents down and talk to them and explain to them your side of the story and how this will be a great experience for you to go on alone, to prove your responsibility.
