Ok, im a getting annoyed with all of these threads asking how to make a summer set-up. So, im going to take my time and compile all the info i know.
Carpet
- The best carpet to use for a set-up would be indoor-outdoor carpet. It is almost exactly like turf, and is sold at Home Depot for a reasonable price.
Snow
- To have snow with your set-ups, contact your local ice skating rinks, and arrange to pick up some ice shavings from the zamboni.
Box Topsheets
- The top of the line matterial for topsheets is lexan. It is pretty expensive and is also sold at Home Depot.
- Another topsheet, that is slightly lower in price is high density polyethelyne (hdpe).
Rails
- The cheapest way to make a rail is with PVC piping. It is pretty cheap, and is sold at pretty mcuh any hardware store.
- For more quality, you can contact a welder to make a rail for you, which would be a lot nicer and less work for you.
- If you have a lot of money, you can buy a rail online. Sites such as http://www.bluejrails.com/ and http://straightlinerails.com/ sell rails, but are extremly high priced.
Drop in
- For a drop in it need to very tall and sturdy. It can be home-made or just use a slide or something with a good incline.
- Some examples are:

Plans
- No one can really tell you how to make a rail you just have to do it. Make what you want and how you want. I would suggest making your rail or box longer than 10 ft, bc any shorter is a waste.
- Here are some examples of rails i found around ns:
